  • Patent number: 6130913
Abstract: A video encoding apparatus is provided with a resolution converting section, an encoding section, and a transmitting section. The resolution converting section enlarges or reduces a binary picture which represents the shape of an object. The encoding section encodes a binary picture reduced by the resolution converting section. The reduction ratio used by the resolution converting section is encoded, and the transmitting section transmits this encoded reduction ratio along with encoded data on the binary picture. The amount of encoded data produced from the encoding section is controlled by changing the enlargement/reduction ratio used by the resolution converting section.

  • Patent number: 6106190
Abstract: In a marine fender with a structure for fixing a pad to a fender frame, the pad has at least one concavity formed in a front surface thereof, and a pad hole piercing the pad from a bottom of the concavity. A bolt with a head is inserted from a front side of the pad through the pad and fender holes, and a nut is disposed at a rear side of the fender frame to engage the bolt to thereby fix the pad to the fender frame. A washer is interposed between the head of the bolt and the bottom of the concavity. In case the bolt is attached to the fender frame, the nut is disposed in the concavity of the pad to engage the bolt, and the washer is interposed between the nut and the bottom of the concavity. In either case, the washer is disposed in the concavity such that a rim of the washer engages an inner periphery of the concavity to prevent rotation with each other. The head of the bolt or nut is joined to the washer.

  • Patent number: 5993268
Abstract: A connector in which an electrical contact portion of a female terminal has a tubular portion corresponding in shape to a terminal receiving chamber in a connector housing. A slit is formed in the tubular portion, and extends in a direction of insertion of the terminal. An engagement projection which is slidably fitted in the slit is formed on an inner surface of the terminal receiving chamber. When the female terminal is inserted in a proper manner, the engagement projection is fitted into the slit in the tubular portion, and therefore the female terminal is completely inserted into the terminal receiving chamber. On the other hand, when the female terminal is inserted in a wrong manner, the front end of the tubular portion abuts against the engagement projection, thereby preventing the insertion of the female terminal.
