  • Patent number: 10750227
Abstract: The present invention is intended to permit both real-time display of a picture represented by a non-compressed video signal on a television and display of a picture represented by a compressed video signal at any desired time by simultaneously transmitting the compressed video signal and non-compressed video signal via one interface. An STB packetizes a compressed video signal, and multiplexes the compressed video signal and a blanking signal combined with a non-compressed video signal. Thus, both the video signals are transmitted simultaneously. A picture represented by the non-compressed video signal is displayed on a television in real time. The compressed video signal is stored in a storage medium incorporated in the television, read at any user's desired time, and decoded so that a picture represented by the compressed video signal can be viewed at the user's desired time.

  • Publication number: 20200244923
Abstract: There is a problem that video data cannot be relayed from a transmission device having an HDMI connector to a receiving device having a USB Type-C connector. In order to solve the above problem, each of a receiving device having an HDMI reception function unit and a relay device, such as a conversion cable for relaying video data from a transmission device, is made to have a function of determining the other devices. By performing switching of a terminator or a protection element between valid and invalid or performing signal connection switching based on the determination result of the function unit, the above problem can be solved. In addition, it is also possible to realize reverse insertion connection for reversing the video data transmission direction of the relay device.

  • Patent number: 10397703
Abstract: Practical speaker connection is identified using a device having a sound channel of a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel, and a device is provided that can easily reproduce the optimum multiple channels. Actual speaker arrangement can be identified by, for example, measuring the impedance of a terminal at the side of an audio amplifier. If incorrect connection is found, a warning is issued. This information is transmitted to a signal source with an EDID and a signal with the optimum a number of sound channel is sent. The EDID is also used for the connection with a display unit and the speaker connection with which the display unit is provided uniquely. For example, a sound through the 7.1 channel is easily reproduced using the speaker of the display unit in the channel of the front speaker.
