  • Patent number: 8462843
Abstract: The invention has: a first register that is set when receiving a CEC message which a video signal source reads an EDID of a video transmitting apparatus and issues and is reset in response to a leading edge of 5V that is supplied from the video signal source; and a second register which reads an EDID of a video displaying apparatus, is set when it is decided that the video displaying apparatus is a predetermined video displaying apparatus, and is reset when a state where an HPD is in a state of ā€œLā€ has continued for a predetermined period of time or longer. Only when both of the first and second registers have been set, it is determined that a predetermined video signal source, the video transmitting apparatus, and the video displaying apparatus have directly been connected.

  • Patent number: 8417850
Abstract: An information processing device is provided with plural HDMI connectors through which an audio signal is supplied to the other information processing device. The device allows selection of an audio signal supply destination. The audio signal supply is requested, and the audio signal is supplied to the specified information processing device in the requested arriving order. The information processing device of a specific type is determined as a priority device which is preferentially selected to receive the audio signal. If the information processing device of specific type is determined as the priority device, and supply of the audio signal therefrom is requested, the audio signal is supplied to the priority device by terminating the audio signal supply to the other information processing device. The audio signal may be supplied to plural supply destinations.

  • Patent number: 8345034
Abstract: A circuit configuration for realizing high impedance in an address drive circuit is provided in order to reduce the number of recovery switches without reducing power recovery efficiency. A mechanism for realizing the high impedance in an address drive circuit during a sustain period of a plasma display panel is provided. By achieving the high impedance, capacitance coupling between an X electrode and an address electrode and between a Y electrode and an address electrode can be cancelled, and a power recovery circuit can be simplified without reducing the power recovery efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20120229706
Abstract: Provided is a system for supplying a power from a sink device to a source device. Not only the source device but also a cable or a repeater device to be connected thereto has compatibility in power supply. A physical address obtained from information of an EDID memory forms a base of CEC message exchange, but a physical address of the cable or repeater device is overlapped with the source device or unknown. The cable or a repeater device uses changes the type of a message while using the same physical address as the source device or use such a message having the physical address information of the source device is described in a parameter of the message using the unknown physical address. The message having a supply or reception current for each device described therein is exchanged with the sink device or the source device to adjust current reception.

  • Patent number: 8213630
Abstract: Practical speaker connection is identified using a device having a sound channel of a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel, and a device is provided that can easily reproduce the optimum multiple channels. Actual speaker arrangement can be identified by, for example, measuring the impedance of a terminal at the side of an audio amplifier. If incorrect connection is found, a warning is issued. This information is transmitted to a signal source with an EDID and a signal with the optimum a number of sound channel is sent. The EDID is also used for the connection with a display unit and the speaker connection with which the display unit is provided uniquely. For example, a sound through the 7.1 channel is easily reproduced using the speaker of the display unit in the channel of the front speaker.

  • Publication number: 20120147904
Abstract: The present invention is intended to permit both real-time display of a picture represented by a non-compressed video signal on a television and display of a picture represented by a compressed video signal at any desired time by simultaneously transmitting the compressed video signal and non-compressed video signal via one interface. An STB packetizes a compressed video signal, and multiplexes the compressed video signal and a blanking signal combined with a non-compressed video signal. Thus, both the video signals are transmitted simultaneously. A picture represented by the non-compressed video signal is displayed on a television in real time. The compressed video signal is stored in a storage medium incorporated in the television, read at any user's desired time, and decoded so that a picture represented by the compressed video signal can be viewed at the user's desired time.

  • Publication number: 20120033044
Abstract: A video display system includes a source device for reproducing and outputting contents; and a display device for displaying contents which is output from the source device. Upon receiving a message for requesting display of a 3D video from the source device in a state of unreadiness to display the 3D video, the display device transmits a message for stopping reproduction of 3D contents to the source device. Upon receiving the message for stopping reproduction of 3D contents, the source device stops reproduction of the 3D contents. Upon completing preparations for displaying the 3D video, the display device transmits a message for reproducing the 3D contents to the source device. Upon receiving the message for reproducing the 3D contents, the source device reproduces and outputs the 3D contents.
