  • Patent number: 10463403
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the risk of PJK, PJF, and other conditions are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a longitudinal extension can be added to a primary fixation construct to extend the construct to one or more additional vertebral levels. The extension can be attached to a first attachment point, such as a bone anchor implanted in a vertebra that is superior to the primary construct. The extension can also be attached to a second attachment point, such as a component of the primary construct or an anatomical structure disposed inferior to the first attachment point. The extension can be more flexible than the primary construct and/or can limit motion to a lesser degree than the primary construct, thereby providing a more-gradual transition from the instrumented vertebrae to the natural patient anatomy adjacent thereto. The extension can be placed with little or no soft tissue disruption.

  • Patent number: 10460104
Abstract: A security system and method secures and responds to security threats in a computer having a CPU, a Kernel/OS, and software applications. A data collector intercepts a selection of first tier calls between the CPU and Kernel/OS and/or second tier calls between the Kernel/Operating System and the applications, and stores information pertaining thereof. An Analytic Engine maps the stored first and second tier call information to a rulebase containing patterns of security threats, to generate a threat analysis, and then responds to the threat analysis. The Analytic Engine enlarges or contracts the selection of first and second tier calls to increase or decrease specificity of the threat analysis. A Management Module generates user interfaces accessible remotely by a user device, to update the rulebase and configure the collector, the Kernel module, and the Analytic Engine.

Abstract: There is provided a center fuel tank assembly for an aircraft. The assembly includes a center fuel tank disposed in a central part of the aircraft. The assembly further includes one or more fuel barrier members partitioning the center fuel tank into two or more separate volume sections comprising two or more separate sub-tanks arranged in a fore-to-aft alignment to form a partitioned center fuel tank. The assembly further includes a fuel flow control assembly coupled to each of the two or more separate sub-tanks, each fuel flow control assembly operating independently. A sequential fuel burn of fuel in the two or more separate sub-tanks is made in a fore-to-aft sequence while the aircraft is in flight, to assist in shifting aftward a center of gravity (CG) of the aircraft, to reduce aircraft drag.

  • Patent number: 10455632
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for device discovery, pairing, and transmission of audio and video media, using preference data shared between a media sender/source node and a media receiver/sink node. In some examples of the disclosed technology, a sink node sends, via a peer-to-peer wireless communication path, a discovery message to a source node comprising a preference indication including an indication of a first one of two communication paths to use for the establishing a connection. The sink node receives a request to establish a connection between the sink node and the source node based on the indicated preference. Based on the received request, the sink node establishes a connection between the sink node and the source node. A selected communication path (e.g., peer-to-peer wireless or wireless infrastructure) can be indicated as preferred, along with additional parameters for the media connection.

  • Patent number: 10452131
Abstract: A system and/or method that uses a body posture of a user to determine and modulate a content mode of a virtual reality system. The content mode may define the manner in which virtual reality content is presented to the user and/or the manner in which the user interacts with the virtual reality content. The user's body posture and/or a change in body posture may cause the content mode and/or the virtual reality content to change accordingly. In some implementations, primary content may be presented to the user according to a first content mode in response to the user sitting. Secondary virtual reality content may be presented to the user according to the second content mode in response to the user standing. As such, a user may initiate a change in the virtual reality content and/or the content mode by standing from a sitting posture and/or sitting from a standing posture.
