  • Patent number: 6202608
Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine is configured to suitably control the operation of electromagnetically driven intake valves and/or exhaust valves upon start-up of the engine for reducing the output current of a battery and suppressing a reduction in output voltage at minimum, thereby accurately operating the electromagnetically driven valves. The control system is operated such that when an ignition switch is turned on, the operation of a starter is prohibited and initial attraction for intake valves and exhaust valves is sequentially performed in such a manner that the attracting operations for the valves are not overlapped to each other; and after the initial attraction for all the valves is completed, the operation of the starter is permitted and the start-up of the engine is performed.

  • Patent number: 6150040
Abstract: A pure steam-related apparatus, which is one of apparatus in the group of pure steam generators generating pure steam from purified water, pipelines for pure steam and sterilizers using pure steam, is protected from discoloration, so-called "fouling", to red or black caused by contact with the pure steam. The apparatus is manufactured by using an austenitic stainless steel sheet as the material, by taking the blanks from the material which received no mechanical surface polishing, by deforming and welding, without electrolytic polishing customarily done, and by passivating the surface to contact pure water to increase Cr-content in the passivation film to such extent as 45 atomic % or higher, preferably 55 atomic % or higher. Better results will be obtained by ensuring Cr/Fe ratio in the passivation film at the level of 1.45 or higher, preferably, 1.70 or higher.

  • Patent number: 6095004
Abstract: An electric-power-assist transmission and a shift control method which allow good operability to be obtained. In the shift control method, a sleeve is engaged with a target gear. A shift spindle is rotated by a driving motor in order to move the sleeve along a main shaft by using a shift fork and a shift drum interlocked with the shift spindle. When the sleeve is moved to a position in contact with the target gear, PWM control is executed at a duty ratio of 70% during the first 20 ms. Thereafter, the PWM control is executed by changing the duty ratio to 50% and restoring the duty ratio back to 70% repeatedly at intervals of 10 ms.

Abstract: The linear motion guide unit has the lubricating means that is easy to be handled, attached to and detached from the track rail by means of supporting a lubricant plate in a holder. The lubricating means has a lubricant plate divided into a pair of lubricant plate components disposed in symmetry with each other, and the holder of a frame surrounding the lubricant plate components to keep steadily the components. The lubricant plate components each have a protrusion which move in sliding contact with raceway grooves of the track rail so as to feed lubricant to the raceway grooves. The lubricant plate components have protrusions fitted into windows in the holder. A pair of the lubricant plate components is supported in such a manner that they are separated by a center wall extending at an upper section of the holder towards the track rail.

  • Patent number: 6079035
Abstract: A sample signal is sequentially transported through a plurality of serial shift registers in respective data channels. The sample signal varies between a pair of levels, namely a first level and a second level, to resemble a step with respect to time. The shift registers are monitored by a skew detection circuit to identify the shift register that receives the sample signal at the time of a generated timing signal. Data signals are then passed through the recorded shift register while compensating for detected skew in parallel transmission data.
