  • Publication number: 20060024608
Abstract: The present invention provides a highly reliable technology for manufacturing a substrate with protrusions. After filling an UV-curable transfer material into the grooves of an intaglio plate for transfer, the UV-curable transfer material is cured by irradiating UV rays under the conditions where it is exposed to an atmosphere that contains at least one of oxygen and ozone while a curing-inhibited portion is formed in an area of the UV-curable transfer material exposed to this atmosphere, and the UV-curable transfer material is transferred to the substrate to form the protrusions, while the curing-inhibited portion is made to adhere to the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050191783
Abstract: A reducing agent is discharged by an ink-jet method into a groove between partition walls of a glass substrate formed by sandblasting, that is, a desired region where an electrode is to be formed. After fixing the reducing agent to the glass substrate, the entire substrate is immersed into a plating solution so as to reduce and deposit a plating catalytic metal contained in the plating solution in the region where the reducing agent is fixed. By immersing the entire substrate into an electroless plating solution, a metal is deposited by electroless plating in the region where the plating catalytic metal is deposited. The variation in the shape of electrodes to be formed is reduced, and mass production and low cost are achieved.

  • Patent number: 6577062
Abstract: A plasma display panel for easy fabrication is provided with an improved black stripe structure. The structure eliminates the black stripes on a front substrate, leading to more freedom in material selection without suffering from the known problem of tarnishing of component members. Further, non-discharge spaces are provided in barrier ribs formed on a rear substrate and black material layers functioning as the black stripes are formed in cavities corresponding to the non-discharge spaces. Thus, this structure serves to form the black material layers in a sequential process which is similar to that for forming phosphor layers, thereby allowing the plasma display panel to have excellent contrast without complicating the structure and the fabrication process thereof.

  • Patent number: 6562552
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a panel assembly used to assemble a display panel intends to achieve an alignment-free between barrier ribs and a fluorescent layer and minimize the waste of a barrier rib material for cost reduction. On a support body 51 which is not a substrate, formed are a plurality of walls 281 through 283 made of a fluorescent material that are belt-shaped in plan view arranged in stripes, an electrode material layer a1, and a barrier rib material filling spaces between the walls. The support body 51 and a substrate 21 are coupled so that the barrier rib material faces the substrate. The walls 281 through 283, the electrode material layer a1 and the barrier rib material 291 are transferred in one step to the substrate 21, and thus a panel assembly 20 having barrier ribs 29, electrodes A and fluorescent layers 28R, 28G and 28B is obtained.
