  • Patent number: 5481470
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for slicing a three-dimensional object representation into a plurality of layer representations is described, wherein the layer representations are subsequently used to form the object layer-by-layer according to the principles of stereolithography. If not already provided in the object representation, a plurality of layer boundary representations are first formed, and then the boolean difference of successive layer boundary representations are computed to derive boundaries of up and down-facing regions, enabling different cure parameters to be specified for these different regions.

  • Patent number: 5375428
Abstract: A refrigeration appliance is provided having at least two refrigeration compartments, each compartment having its own access door. The appliance includes a single evaporator located in a plenum which is selectively in communication with each of the compartments, a single compressor, preferably run by a variable speed motor, and a refrigerant circuit including a series of conduits for providing a flow of refrigerant to the evaporator and compressor. A control determines which of the compartments is demanding cooling and operates the refrigeration device until the detected demand for cooling has been satisfied for the particular compartment. Prior to terminating the operation of the refrigeration device, the control determines if the second compartment is demanding cooling or was within a predetermined temperature range prior to demanding cooling. If either condition exists, the refrigeration device is switched to the second compartment until the demand for cooling therein has been satisfied.

  • Patent number: 5272397
Abstract: Disclosed is a basic DCVS (differential cascode voltage switch) tree construct, which can be used as a uniform basis for constructing DCVS logic circuits, register-latch circuits and circuits which can be conditioned individually to function as either or both DCVS logic and register-latches. In addition to logic and load sections that may be identical to corresponding sections of prior art DCVS trees, this construct contains gating elements for providing unique functions of isolation, precharge support and latch input coupling. The isolation function is used to electrically isolate the logic and load sections from each other, so that each section can be made to operate in a mode which is independent of the other section. The precharge support function allows precharging of circuits in the logic section without involvement of the load section. The latch input coupling function allows signals to be applied to and latched in the load section from a source other than the respective logic section.

  • Patent number: 5255965
Abstract: A waterproof stereo cover assembly includes a stereo-mounting frame for mounting a stereo therein, a waterproof cover pivotally attached to the stereo-mounting frame, and sealing members mounted in the stereo-mounting frame for sealing the stereo-mounting frame. The stereo-mounting frame has a notch formed on and extending lengthwise along an upper frame thereof, defining two end walls. A polygonal socket is symmetrically formed in each of the two end walls of the notch. A slot having a width slightly less than that of the polygonal socket extends from each polygonal socket to a front side of the stereo-mounting frame. The waterproof cover has a flange extending on an upper edge thereof, being received in the notch.

  • Patent number: 5214672
Abstract: A digital data sequence is mapped into a signal point sequence e(D) for data transmission over a channel h(D) to produce a channel output sequence y(D)=e(D)h(D). e(D) is chosen so that the signal points in the sequence y(D) belong to a class of possible sequences based on the digital data sequence, the class being based on a time-varying trellis code derived from an N-dimensional time-invariant trellis code by using different transformed versions of its underlying lattices for respectively different N-dimensional symbols.

  • Patent number: 5182715
Abstract: A stereolithography system employing a more powerful laser and faster dynamic mirrors to speed up part building without sacrificing accuracy is described, especially large or complex parts. A controllable shutter is placed in the beam path of the laser to selectably block the passage of the beam and prevent unwanted solidification. A suitable servo controlled feedback loop is provided to accurately position the mirrors at the higher velocity. Also described is a means to reduce data flow by distributing tasks in a multiple processor environment, and to improve user interaction by the use of a spreadsheet model. These also improve the speed of part building, especially for large or complex parts.
