  • Publication number: 20140082216
Abstract: In one embodiment, an edge router receives an update message from a neighboring EBGP edge router, creates a modified origin validation state extended community, prepares a modified update message by attaching the modified origin validation state extended community to the update message, and sends the modified update message to a route reflector. The route reflector receives the modified update message, performs a prefix origin validation and a path validation based on the information contained in the modified update message, prepares a validation message based on the prefix origin validation and path validation, and sends the validation message to the edge router and to all other neighboring IBGP edge routers. The edge routers receive the validation message from the route reflector, parse the validation message, and inherit a validation state parsed from the validation message.

  • Publication number: 20140046517
Abstract: A powertrain system includes a multi-mode transmission configured to transfer torque among an engine, torque machines, and a driveline. A method for controlling the powertrain includes executing a dual closed-loop control scheme that includes determining an engine-based output torque range employed in a first feedback loop and simultaneously determining a control acceleration-based output torque range employed in a second feedback loop. Engine commands are controlled responsive to the engine-based output torque range and simultaneously a control acceleration is controlled responsive to the control acceleration-based output torque range to achieve an output torque of the powertrain system responsive to an output torque request.

  • Publication number: 20140038773
Abstract: A method for controlling a powertrain system including an internal combustion engine coupled to a multi-mode transmission in response to a command to execute a shift from a first EVT Mode range to a second EVT Mode range includes executing a first shift from the first EVT Mode range to an intermediate transmission range. The multi-mode transmission operates in the intermediate transmission range and the engine is controlled at an engine torque command that corresponds to an output torque request. A second shift is executed from the intermediate transmission range to the second transmission range. The powertrain system operates in the second transmission range to transfer torque to an output member of the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20140038776
Abstract: A powertrain system includes an internal combustion engine, a multi-mode transmission having a plurality of torque machines, and a driveline. A method for deactivating a torque transfer clutch of the multi-mode transmission includes imposing prioritized clutch torque constraints to an off-going clutch. The constraints include minimum and maximum long-term desired clutch torque constraints that are superseded by minimum and maximum soft clutch torque constraints that are superseded by minimum and maximum short-term desired clutch torque constraints that are superseded by minimum and maximum hard clutch torque constraints. The off-going clutch is controlled in response to the prioritized clutch torque constraints.

  • Patent number: 8595697
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to software testing and provide a method, system and computer program product for serializing a templated markup language representation of test artifacts. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for configuring a test plan for serialization can be provided. • Patent number: 8583306
Abstract: A method for controlling output torque of a hybrid powertrain system includes determining a constrained output torque in response to an operator torque request, and determining maximum and minimum output torque limits. A time-rate change in the constrained output torque at each of a plurality of torque breakpoints is determined. A desired output torque is determined. A preferred output torque is determined as the desired output torque adjusted using the time-rate changes in the constrained output torque at the plurality of torque breakpoints and limited within the maximum and minimum output torque limits. Torque outputs of torque generators of the hybrid powertrain system are controlled in response to the preferred output torque.

  • Patent number: 8574144
Abstract: A centrifuge is employed to continuously remove particulates from a fluid. In one embodiment, the centrifuge removes small particles of soot from lubricating oil of large diesel engines. The fluid in introduced into the centrifuge through an inducer so that vortexes are not propagated in the fluid. Flow constrainers and flow straighteners maintain laminar flow of the fluid as it passes axially through the centrifuge. An exducer decelerates the fluid prior to its exit from the centrifuge. The exducer thus contributes to maintaining laminar flow conditions. Laminar flow may contribute to the soot-removal effectiveness of the centrifuge.

  • Publication number: 20130207878
Abstract: A wideband multi-function phased array antenna aperture includes a plurality of low and high frequency phased array apertures that are asymmetrically dispersed over a largest aperture. Each aperture of the plurality of low and high frequency phased array apertures includes a plurality of frequency scaled radiating elements. The antenna aperture consolidates many functions into a single wideband multi-function phased array antenna where the use of frequency scaled elements reduces the total number of elements needed, thereby reducing the size, weight, power, cost and radar cross section when compared to conventional wideband phased array architectures.

  • Patent number: 8414931
Abstract: Disclosed is a wood preservative composition comprising micronized copper and copper-amine complex, wherein the copper component of the copper amine complex is from about 5% to about 50% by weight, based upon the total weight of copper in the composition. The copper amine complex serves to avoid wood surface “chalking” that is otherwise attributable to the presence of micronized copper in copper-based slurries used to treat wood products. In addition, the copper-amine complex enhances the antimicrobial efficacy of the composition when used in wood treatment applications by facilitating cell wall penetration of the treated wood.

  • Publication number: 20130049884
Abstract: Low-frequency digital data input signals in an integrated circuit are controlled between first and second stages in a signal input path of the integrated circuit by a capacitance in the signal input path between the first and second stages. The capacitance is sized to attenuate high-frequency noise in the signal input path. In one embodiment, the integrated circuit may be an input buffer circuit in which the capacitance is a capacitor between the signal input path and a reference potential, a voltage source, or both. In another embodiment, the integrated circuit may be an oscillator circuit in which the capacitance is provided between corresponding elements of a differential pair of transistors in the first stage.
