  • Patent number: 9823017
Abstract: A method and system of controlling a temperature within a melt tray assembly of a distillation tower. The method may include determining a melt tray fluid composition of a melt tray fluid, determining a melt tray fluid temperature of the melt tray fluid, determining if the melt tray fluid temperature is within an expected melt tray fluid temperature range for the melt tray fluid composition, decreasing the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is greater than an expected melt tray fluid temperature range upper limit, increasing the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is less than an expected melt tray fluid temperature range lower limit, and maintaining the melt tray fluid temperature if the melt tray fluid temperature is within the expected melt tray fluid temperature range.

  • Patent number: 9803787
Abstract: A magnetic connection system with at least three components for connecting host and target systems. A first magnetic connector is attached to the host system, a second magnetic connector is attached to the target system; a third magnetic connector or puck is positioned between the first connector and the second connector. The first, second, and third connectors fit together with their magnets aligned, and the magnetic attraction is stronger between the puck and the target system connector than the puck and the host system connector. The system can transfer fuel, data, or electricity. In one example, the system transfers fuel from a fuel supply vessel to a target vessel with minimal human effort to attach the fuel connector components. The puck can have a conduit for fuel, data, or electricity that is centrally aligned with a receiving conduit in the target system connector.

  • Publication number: 20170239612
Abstract: A method of removing impurities from a natural gas stream. A selective solvent is provided that absorbs a first impurity at a first rate and a second impurity at a second rate that is slower than the first rate. The solvent is cooled to a temperature below 60° F. to provide a cooled solvent. The cooled solvent is contacted with the natural gas stream, thereby generating a rich solvent that includes the first impurity. The rich solvent is removed from the natural gas stream, wherein an amount of the first impurity remaining in the natural gas stream is below a sales gas requirement.

  • Patent number: 9739529
Abstract: A method and system for separating fluids in a distillation tower. The method may include feeding a stream to the distillation tower, wherein the stream includes carbon dioxide, reducing a carbon dioxide concentration of the stream received by the rectifier section by feeding a first cryogenic fluid to the controlled freeze zone section and accumulating rectifier section stream in at least one of a holding vessel and a sump of the rectifier section, and terminating reducing the carbon dioxide concentration when the carbon dioxide concentration of the stream travelling from the controlled freeze zone section to the rectifier section is less than or equal to a maximum carbon dioxide concentration. The first cryogenic fluid may comprise a substantially carbon-dioxide-free fluid.

  • Publication number: 20170214532
Abstract: A magnetic random access memory (MRAM) physically unclonable function (PUF) device that uses the geometric variations in magnetic memory cells to generate a random PUF response is described herein. Within the MRAM, one or more magnetic memory cells can be used for the PUF. The PUF response is generated by destabilizing the one or more magnetic memory cells and then allowing them to relax. The MRAM PUF has also a relatively small foot-print among all other silicon PUFs. Timing and control signals for the MRAM PUF are also described along with power and delay characteristics for use with with field and spin transfer torque driven destabilization operations.

Abstract: A multi-joint fixture including a proximal base unit, one or more arms serially connected by electromagnetically lockable ball joints, and a distal hub. The ball joints unlock when not powered. A centering mechanism biases the ball joints toward a neutral position. A control system activates the electromagnetic brake with a high-then-low voltage profile. A headpiece attaches to the hub and holds a drape that covers the fixture. A connector connects a surgical device to the headpiece. A switch on the hub can be actuated via actuators on the headpiece or connector.

  • Patent number: 9688588
Abstract: A continuous flow process for the oligomerization of ethylene using a chromium catalyst having a phosphorus-nitrogen-phosphorus (“P—N—P”) ligand provides high selectivity to the desired tetramer (1-octene) with reduced production of coproduct C10+ oligomers. Prior art processes that maximize catalyst activity have provided comparatively poor product selectivity. In particular, the production of larger amounts of C10+ oligomers have been observed under conditions that maximize activity. The present process resolves this problem through the use of a combination of low catalyst concentration and by limiting the octene concentration in the reactor.

  • Publication number: 20170130040
Abstract: Barrier films are prepared from a blend of two high density polyethylene blend components and a high performance organic nucleating agent. The two high density polyethylene blend components have substantially different melt indices. Large reductions in the moisture vapor transmission rate of the film are observed in the presence of the nucleating agent when the melt indices of the two blend components have a ratio of greater than 10/1. The resulting barrier films are suitable for the preparation of packaging for dry foods such as crackers and breakfast cereals.
