  • Patent number: 11342965
Abstract: A method (200) of transmitting a block of data in a distributed MIMO system is disclosed. The distributed MIMO system comprises a plurality of access points (A1, . . . , AK), wherein access points (Aj) are grouped into a first set of M groups and a second set of M groups, different from the first set, wherein M is an integer. A first antenna port mapping assigns each group of the first set to a unique one of M antenna ports. A second antenna port mapping assigns each group of the second set to a unique one of M antenna ports. The method comprises transmitting (220) the block of data using both the first and the second antenna port mapping.

  • Publication number: 20220158717
Abstract: A method performed by a radio network node for reducing energy consumption in communications with wireless devices is provided. The radio network node includes a dual-polarized antenna array, which dual-polarized antenna array has a first sub-set antenna array and a second sub-set antenna array for communication with the wireless devices. The radio network node decides whether to (a) deactivate or (b) not deactivate the second sub-set antenna array, to reduce the energy consumption, based on ongoing communications in the radio network node with wireless devices. The first sub-set antenna array and the second sub-set antenna array have a total antenna pattern that has a deviation that is below a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11324009
Abstract: A network node determines a first transmission parameter for transmission of downlink control channel scheduling the downlink control information provided to a wireless device in a first signal, and selects either the first transmission parameter or one or more different second transmission parameters for transmission of the downlink control channel scheduling for the downlink control information provided to the wireless device in one or more second signals. To allow flexibility and efficient use of resources, the first signal sent by the base station indicates the one or more second transmission parameters as well as the selected transmission parameter(s) for the second signals. In one exemplary embodiment, the first and second transmission parameters comprise first and second control resource set (CORESET) configurations. In another exemplary embodiment, the first and second transmission parameters comprise first and second search spaces.

  • Patent number: 11317342
Abstract: A radio node (12) is configured for use in a wireless communication system (10) in which system information is transmitted in parts. The radio node (12) in this regard generates explicit signaling that is associated with a first part (16) of system information and that indicates a sequence (24) with which a second part (20) of system information is to be demodulated or descrambled. The radio node (12) transmits the explicit signaling over a signaling channel (25). Correspondingly, a wireless communication device (14) receives system information for the system (10) in parts. The device (14) receives the first part (16) over the first channel (18). The device (14) also receives the explicit signaling over the signaling channel (25). The device (14) further receives the second part (20) over the second channel (22), by demodulating or descrambling the second part (20) using the sequence (24) indicated by the explicit signaling.

  • Publication number: 20220086644
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a network node for enabling verification of a broadcast message transmitted from the network node to a wireless device. The network node signals a first public key, to the wireless device, using a secure connection. The network node further transmits a first broadcast message protected by a signature. The signature is generated from at least a protected part of the first broadcast message using a first private key, the first private key being associated with the first public key. Thereby, the broadcast message can be verified by the wireless device using the distributed first public key, thus preventing fake broadcast messages to be accepted by the device.

  • Patent number: 11265126
Abstract: A set of different pilot structures are designed for use in different environments and/or different user behaviours that are expected to occur in a cell. The radio conditions for a user are estimated. Each user is then assigned an area (108A-E) in resource space for its communication, which has a suitable pilot configuration. In one embodiment, the entire resource space is provided with different pilot structures in different parts (110A-D). In advance and allocation of resources to the users are then performed in order to match estimated radio conditions to the provided pilot structure. In another embodiment, allocation is performed first, and then the actual pilot structure is adapted within the allocated resource space area to suit the environmental conditions.
