  • Publication number: 20200389802
Abstract: A method performed by a network node for selecting a System Information Area Identity, SI Area ID, for a first cell in a wireless communications network. The network node obtains (202) information about SI configurations of one or more respective cells in a set of cells relevant to the first cell. The network node determines (203) a set of candidate SI Area IDs for the first cell. The network node then calculates (204) a value of a utility function for each respective SI Area ID candidate in the set of candidate SI Area IDs based on the obtained information about the SI configurations of the one or more respective cells in the set of cells relevant to the first cell. The network node then selects (205) an SI Area ID for the first cell from the set of candidate SI Area IDs based on the calculated utility function values, which selected SI Area ID is for configuration of the first cell.

  • Patent number: 10863365
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a first radio network node for handling communication of a wireless device in a wireless communication network, wherein the first radio network node provides radio coverage over a first service area using a first reference signal, which first reference signal is for identifying the first service area in the wireless communication network. The first radio network node changes one or more antenna parameters, corresponding to one or more antenna ports used for an active mode transmission for the wireless device, independently of one or more other antenna parameters corresponding to one or more other antenna ports used for an idle mode transmission within the first service area. The first radio network node further uses the one or more antenna ports for active mode transmissions for the wireless device and/or the one or more other antenna ports for idle mode transmissions within the first service area.

  • Patent number: 10834742
Abstract: A network node provisions multi-cell System Information (SI) for a serving cell serving a wireless device and some number of second cells by dividing the multi-cell System Information Block (SIB) into multiple SIB instances. At least one of the SIB instances comprises the SIB content for the serving cell, and each remaining SIB instance comprises the SIB content for the cell(s) associated with that SIB instance, where the SIB content for at least one of the SIB instances is compressed. In one embodiment, another of the SIB instances comprises SIB content for one or more of the second cells, which is subsequently compressed before being provided to the wireless device. Each SIB instance is then provided to a wireless device via a corresponding downlink communication channel.

  • Patent number: 10804992
Abstract: In one aspect of this disclosure, a transceiver obtains and transmits a CSI status indicator. In one example, the CSI status indicator indicates that previously reported CSI is outdated and/or that a new CSI report is available at the transceiver. In some embodiments, the transceiver generates or transmits the CSI status indicator according to a particular configuration, which may be set by a supporting wireless communication network. The configuration may include criteria on when to transmit the CSI status indicator, such as configuration criteria indicating that the transceiver should transmit the CSI status indicator responsive to completing its determination of a full-dimension beamforming matrix to be used for controlling beamforming towards the transceiver. The transceiver comprises, for example, a wireless device operating within a wireless communication network and the CSI status indicator corresponds to the status of downlink CSI.

  • Patent number: 10785007
Abstract: A receiver apparatus receives a terminal-specific demodulation reference signal having a rank k and estimates an effective multi-layer channel response, using the received terminal-specific demodulation reference signal. The receiver demodulates first data symbols from first time-frequency resource elements, using the estimate of the effective multi-layer channel response and using a first symbols-to-virtual-antenna mapping matrix M to obtain nc modulation symbols from each of the first time-frequency resource elements, wherein nc>1 and wherein the first symbol-to-transmit-layer mapping matrix M has dimensions k by nc. The first data symbols are decoded to obtain downlink control information assigning second time-frequency resource elements to the receiver.
