  • Patent number: 8819719
Abstract: The present invention enables real-time video commenting by viewers of media content on a web site. The media content may be video, audio, text, still images or other types of media content. When a content viewer indicates a desire to provide a real-time video comment, a content server causes a video input device at the content viewer's location to be activated. The content viewer's video comment is captured by the video input device and transmitted to the content server, where it is stored and associated with the video being commented upon. When the original video is subsequently presented to content viewers, indicia of the video comment such as a thumbnail or description of the comment is also presented, thus inviting content viewers to view the video comment in addition to the original video.

  • Patent number: 8817107
Abstract: An imaging device that includes a control unit is provided. The control unit switches between a day mode and a night mode. In the day mode, image capture is performed while an infrared cut filter is placed on an optical path, and in the night mode, image capture is performed while the infrared cut filter is removed from the optical path. Immediately after shifting from the day mode to the night mode, in the night mode, as the amount of incident light decreases, the control unit increases an irradiation intensity of an infrared irradiation portion from zero while a gain is maintained at a first gain value. When the amount of the incident light further decreases after the irradiation intensity reaches a maximum, the control portion increases the gain from the first gain value.

  • Publication number: 20140235428
Abstract: A highly active supported bimetallic nanocatalyst and its preparation method is disclosed. During the preparation, using an ion exchange or absorption resin bearing basic functional groups as the support of the said catalyst, successively introducing the first metal precursor FeCl4? and the second metal precursor (PdCl42?, NiCl42? or CuCl42?) onto the resin through ion exchange process; then under the protection of nitrogen gas, simultaneously reducing the two metals with either NaBH4 or KBH4; washing the material with deoxygenated water and drying it, and the said catalyst is therefore obtained. The supported bimetallic material is characteristic of independent distribution of the two metals within the support. The independently distributed structure of the two metals enhances the catalytic efficiency of the second metal and the catalytic stability.

  • Publication number: 20140233676
Abstract: The present invention describes a RF signal control method and device that changes the gain attenuation in real time and uses the changed gain attenuation to adjust the RF input signal. The RF signal control method and device also uses determined linear filter parameters for linearity improvement on the digital signal that results from a down-conversion and analog-to-digital converter on the RF input signal. The adjusted and improved signal is output after a digital pre-distortion and power amplification operation. In comparison with existing technologies, the adjusted gain attenuation is used to make adjustment on the RF input signal and improve linearity the RF input signal such that the resulting RF signal has better quality. Thus, the current application improves the linearity effect of a digital pre-distorter and the dynamic effect of a power amplifier for the RF signal, thereby enhancing coverage of the RF output signal.
