  • Publication number: 20220286184
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) determines sidelink resources for use in vehicle wireless communications. Initial beam establishment uses a Sidelink Synchronization Signal (SLSS), a Sidelink Channel State Information Reference Signal (SL-CSI-RS), or a Sidelink Demodulation Reference Signal (SL-DMRS). Beam refinement may then be conducted either by UEs in communication with each other, or by just one of the UEs. A base station such as a gNB may assign resources for a dedicated sidelink carrier or a shared licensed sidelink carrier, e.g., dynamically, as pre-configured by RRC, or based on activation and deactivation. In such cases, initial beam establishment and refinement may include gNB controlled beam forming at a connectionless stage, gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to Tx UE only, or gNB controlled beam forming at connection stage with scheduling DCI transmitted to both Tx UE and Rx UE.

  • Patent number: 11425752
Abstract: Disclosed herein are new radio (NR) Data link architecture options including, for example, NR radio bearer models, NR logical channel models, and MAC and HARQ models. Further described are packet flows mapping to data radio bearers (DRBs), and a new flow encapsulation protocol in the user plane. In some embodiments, DRBs with different quality of service (QoS) are pre-established, but not activated. This allows a given user equipment (UE) to use these DRBs for packet data network (PDN) flows without a large overhead. Pre-established DRBs can be an extension to default bearer concept with the decision of pre-establishment of DRBs based on UE capability, subscription profile, operation policy, installed apps, etc.

  • Patent number: 11405246
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for Uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive licensed assisted access (LAA) configuration information, e.g., for a first cell from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed band, and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed band. The WTRU may determine whether a first subframe is a sounding reference signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. If the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell, the WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe and determine whether the WTRU is triggered to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. If it is determined the WTRU is triggered to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe, the WTRU may transmit the SRS transmission on the SRS resources for the first subframe.

  • Publication number: 20220217760
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for Intra-UE Prioritization in uplink (UL) transmissions. In an example, an apparatus may receive first information indicating a first uplink grant associated with a first transmission and second information indicating a second uplink grant associated with a second transmission. The apparatus may determine, based on the first information and the second information, that the first transmission and the second transmission overlap at least partially in time. The apparatus may determine a first priority associated with the first transmission and a second priority associated with the second transmission. The apparatus may then cause, based at least in part on the first priority and the second priority, at least one of: prioritization of one transmission over another transmission, or preemption of the first transmission by the second transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220191962
Abstract: An apparatus in accordance with the present application may monitor a sidelink (SL) connection. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives signals in a protocol stack to perform SL-radio link monitoring (SL-RLM), and determines, according to the signals, whether a SL-radio link status reporting dio link failure (RLF) has occurred. The signals may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In a case that the signals include a HARQ-NACK, the processing circuitry determines that the SL-RLF has occurred. The processing circuitry further receives configuration information related to the SL-RLM for the signals, the configuration information including configurations for measurement quantities of the signals and a condition for declaring SL-RLF, configures, according to the configuration information, lower layers of the protocol stack for the SL-RLM for the signals, and performs SL-RLM measurements of the measurement quantities.

  • Publication number: 20220116152
Abstract: Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes may be transmitted via configured grants as well as scheduled grants. The configured grants may include time and frequency resources, and transmissions may occur across contiguous transmissions. HARQ process information, such as HARQ IDs and redundancy versions, may be communicated via a control channel, and the control channel may be multiplexed with the transmission resources of the configured grants. Retransmission timers may be used for HARQ processes conveyed via configured grants, and the transmitting apparatus may signal to a receiver when to send an acknowledgement.
