  • Patent number: 11564170
Abstract: Techniques for improved wake-up signal (WUS) operation in a wireless communication system are described. In accordance with one embodiment, a wireless communications device may receive, from a gNB, information indicating parameters associated with a wake-up signal time window and may power down its first receiver and second receiver based on a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle. The wireless communications device may wake up the second receiver to receive, from the gNB, a wake-up signal during a configured WUS time window and determine whether a wake-up or a non-wake-up condition is indicated. If a wake-up condition is indicated, then the wireless communications device may wake up the first receiver before an on duration of the DRX cycle to synchronize timing with the gNB, detect a new radio physical downlink control channel (NR-PDCCH) during the on duration of the DRX cycle, and reset a size of the wake-up signal time window.

  • Publication number: 20220368574
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for Uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive licensed assisted access (LAA) configuration information, e.g., for a first cell from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed band, and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed band. The WTRU may determine whether a first subframe is a sounding reference signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. If the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell, the WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe and determine whether the WTRU is triggered to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. If it is determined the WTRU is triggered to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe, the WTRU may transmit the SRS transmission on the SRS resources for the first subframe.

  • Patent number: 11503495
Abstract: Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) may be enhanced by accounting for Quality of Service (QoS) attributes of single hop and multi-hop paths. QoS attributes may be communicated as a QoS budget comprising a number of attributes, or as a single composite QoS “resistance” factor that quantifies the compounded impact of number of hops, latency, load conditions, and the like. The QoS budget or resistance may dynamically adjusted, and may be used by LCP to provide differentiated uplink resource allocation to data of the bearer or logical channel subject to different transmission paths between the transmitter and the receiver, for example. QoS budget and resistance information may be used to, e.g., enhance Buffer Status Report (BSR) and Scheduling Request (SR) operations.

  • Patent number: 11425752
Abstract: Disclosed herein are new radio (NR) Data link architecture options including, for example, NR radio bearer models, NR logical channel models, and MAC and HARQ models. Further described are packet flows mapping to data radio bearers (DRBs), and a new flow encapsulation protocol in the user plane. In some embodiments, DRBs with different quality of service (QoS) are pre-established, but not activated. This allows a given user equipment (UE) to use these DRBs for packet data network (PDN) flows without a large overhead. Pre-established DRBs can be an extension to default bearer concept with the decision of pre-establishment of DRBs based on UE capability, subscription profile, operation policy, installed apps, etc.
