Abstract: Roughened tool surfaces for thermoset composite layups and systems and methods including the same are disclosed herein. The systems include a first tool that includes a first tool body that defines the roughened tool surface and a second tool that defines a second tool surface. The roughened tool surface is shaped to receive and to form a plurality of plies of composite thermoset composite material, which defines a thermoset composite layup. A roughness of the roughened tool surface is within a predefined roughness range. The second tool surface is configured to receive a plurality of discrete thermoset composite layups and to be heated with the plurality of discrete thermoset composite layups to cure the plurality of discrete thermoset composite layups and define a thermoset composite structure. The methods include methods of forming the thermoset composite structure utilizing the first tool and the second tool.

Abstract: An electronic package and a method of making the same in provided. The electronic package includes a dielectric layer and a conformal masking layer disposed on at least a portion of the dielectric layer. The electronic package further includes a routing layer disposed on at least a portion of the masking layer and a micro-via disposed at least in part in the conformal masking layer and the routing layer. Further, at least a portion of the routing layer forms a conformal electrically conductive layer in at least a portion of the micro-via. Also, the conformal masking layer is configured to define a size of the micro-via. The electronic package further includes a semiconductor die operatively coupled to the micro-via.

Abstract: An X-ray detector has a layered structure that includes a substrate, a TFT array disposed on the substrate, a photodiode layer disposed on the TFT array, and a scintillator layer disposed on the photodiode layer. The scintillator layer comprises a particle-in-binder composite that contains a continuous parylene matrix having dispersed therein a plurality of particles that include a scintillator material that emits light in response to the absorption of X-rays.

The application may determine metadata information, such as a status, an amount, and/or a context of metadata associated with annotations within a document, and may display the annotation hint to one or more users to indicate the annotation metadata information. The annotation hint may be displayed through a user interface associated with the application near a location within the document where the metadata is located. The annotation hint may indicate the metadata information without the one or more users having to hover over and/or select the annotation hint, enabling implementation when the application is executed on a touch-enabled device. The one or more users may also be enabled to interact through the user interface to customize annotation hints and to select another annotation hint to replace the displayed annotation hint.

Abstract: The present disclosure is a gaming system that has a gaming module that generates and renders gaming image data to a display device and a communication module that generates viewport image data. Additionally, the gaming system has logic that intercepts a rendering operation of the gaming module and determines a location of the gaming image data. Further, the logic further generates combined image data by combining the gaming image data with the viewport image data and performs a rendering operation for display of the combined image data to the display device.

The method includes the steps of dividing a standard 52-card deck into a reserve and a player deck, so that the reserve contains 16 randomly selected cards and the player deck contains the remaining 36 cards. Each player is then provided with a ticket showing two randomly selected cards from the player deck. Fictitious opponents are each provided with two randomly selected cards from the reserve, while five randomly selected cards from the reserve are used to form the community cards. As in Texas Hold'Em poker, the best 5-card poker hand for each player and each fictitious opponent is determined from amongst the two cards the 5 community cards. Two categories of prizes are awarded. The first two players whose hands beat all fictitious opponents.

The magnets connected with the first and second members are configured and oriented with respect to each other to (i) establish respective magnetic fields that interact to suspend one of the members from the other member in a predetermined self centered orientation without physical contact between the members, and (ii) maintain the one of the members suspended from the other member in the predetermined self centered orientation without physical contact between the members.

The measurement electrode comprises a catalyst selected for its ability to catalyse the dissociation of a contaminant’ molecule into its ionic species. The reference electrode comprises a catalyst selected for its ability to catalyse the dissociation of a reference molecule into its ionic species. The conductor is selected to conduct an ionic species common to the dissociated contaminant and reference molecules.

Abstract: A new and useful structure is provided for supporting and guiding an arrow that is being drawn and released by a bow, in a way that avoids physical contact between the structure and the arrow. Moreover, new and useful components for such structure are also provided. A preferred structure comprises a support magnet for a bow, and an arrow with an arrow magnet in a predetermined position on the arrow. The support magnet is configured to establish a magnetic field that supports and guides the arrow as the arrow is being drawn by a bow. The arrow magnet is disposed in a predetermined position on the arrow, and is configured to react with the magnetic field established by the support magnet, to cause the arrow to be magnetically supported and guided by the support magnet, without physical contact between the arrow and the support magnet, at least partially as the arrow is drawn by a bow and released toward a target.

Abstract: An apparatus for draining reservoirs includes a pump disposed in contact with a lower surface of the vessel to be drained, wherein the pump is connected to a discharge pipe inserted into the vessel through an insertion tube connected to a retrofit assembly of the vessel. The apparatus also includes seals within the insertion tube and within the discharge pipe to prevent gases from within the vessel from passing through the insertion tube and discharge pipe and into the atmosphere. An expansion joint unit attaches to the discharge pipe to prevent the rotation of the pump relative to the discharge pipe. The expansion joint unit also maintains the pump in substantial contact with the lower surface of the vessel even when thermal expansion causes the vessel to expand and the position of the discharge pipe to lift.
