  • Patent number: 10006846
Abstract: A sensor system is provided for measuring particle concentration and mass concentration in an aerosol. An optical sensor (33) is used for measuring a particle concentration and a mechanical sensor (32) is used for measuring a mass of collected particles. A particle concentration in the aerosol is monitored using the optical sensor (33), until detection of a particle generating event. Upon detection of a particle generating event, a mass measurement using the mechanical sensor (32) is performed and the mass measurement is used to calibrate the optical sensor (33). This approach enables the lifetime of the mechanical sensor to be extended, because it is only used when events are detected. The optical sensor, which typically is less accurate for mass sensing, is calibrated by the mechanical sensor.

  • Patent number: 9967045
Abstract: A time domain multiplexed (TDM) routing schedule for a wireless mesh network can be generated using a Markov chain process. In particular, synchronized paths between access nodes and gateways in the mesh network can be added to, and removed from, the TDM routing schedule in an iterative fashion according to each individual state in a state progression of a Markov chain, with each state of the Markov chain mapping a different combination of synchronized paths to the TDM routing schedule. In some embodiments, transitioning between states of a Markov chain is performed according to a proportionally fair transition rate.

  • Patent number: 9953306
Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a server via a network, transaction information descriptive of a money transfer transaction initiated at a point of entry device. The transaction information includes information that identifies a location of the point of entry device. The method includes determining, by the server, receipt information to be included in a receipt for the money transfer transaction. The receipt information may be determined based, at least in part, on the transaction information, and at least a portion of the receipt information included in the receipt satisfies regulatory requirements associated with the location of the point of entry device. The method includes generating, by the server, the receipt that includes the receipt information, and transmitting the receipt from the server to the point of entry device via the network.

  • Publication number: 20180056228
Abstract: The invention provides a sensor device which comprises an input flow channel (10) for receiving a gas flow with entrained matter to be sensed. A thermophoretic arrangement (14a, 14b) is used to induce a thermophoretic particle movement from a first, warmer, region (16) of the input flow channel to a second, cooler, region (18) of the input flow channel (10). A sensor (24) comprises a particle sensor component at or downstream of the first region (16) of the input flow channel (10). The invention provides the benefit of pre-filtering (e.g. removal of most suspended solids/liquids) without the need for a physical filter that can become blocked.

  • Patent number: 9872414
Abstract: The invention pertains to a system for mounting components to a rack comprising brackets that can be mounted to the rear of the rack through the opening in the front of rack before the component is inserted into the slot and mating sleeves running along the sides of the components. The brackets include arms that extend forwardly towards the front of the slot. After the brackets are attached, the component can be slid into the slot from the front with the sleeves sliding over and engaging the brackets. In this manner, the component can be slid into a slot on the rack with the brackets sliding into the sleeves, thereby providing support for the component along a substantial portion of the depth of the component without the need to bolt or otherwise fixedly attach the component to the bracket after the component is in the rack. Accordingly, a component can be installed in a rack without the need for any access except from the front of the rack.

  • Publication number: 20180005381
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for segmenting tissue within a computed tomography (CT) scan of a region of interest into one of a plurality of tissue classes. A plurality of atlases are registered to the CT scan to produce a plurality of registered atlases. A context model representing respective likelihoods that each voxel of the CT scan is a member of each of the plurality of tissue classes is determined from the CT scan and a set of associated training data. A proper subset of the plurality of registered at lases is selected according to the context model and the registered atlases. The selected proper subset of registered atlases are fused to produce a combined segmentation.
