  • Patent number: 10363514
Abstract: The invention provides a sensor device which comprises an input flow channel (10) for receiving a gas flow with entrained matter to be sensed. A thermophoretic arrangement (14a, 14b) is used to induce a thermophoretic particle movement from a first, warmer, region (16) of the input flow channel to a second, cooler, region (18) of the input flow channel (10). A sensor (24) comprises a particle sensor component at or downstream of the first region (16) of the input flow channel (10). The invention provides the benefit of pre-filtering (e.g. removal of most suspended solids/liquids) without the need for a physical filter that can become blocked.

  • Patent number: 10364994
Abstract: The present application relates to an apparatus for purifying and/or humidifying air, and a related method for purifying and/or humidifying air. The apparatus comprises a rotary filter (1), a fan (9, 10) for passing air through the rotary filter (1), and a reservoir (4, 5), and wherein the rotation speed of the rotary filter (1) and the settings of the fan (9, 10) depend on the ambient relative humidity and ambient gas pollutant concentration. The apparatus combines the feature of chemisorption with the use of a rotary filter (1), thereby providing an apparatus which is able to purify air and/or regulate the ambient humidity based on humidity levels and levels of a target gas pollutant in the air. The invention removes the need for a pump for liquid transport, removes the need for frequent and expensive filter changes by the user, and instead only requires the user to periodically refresh the filtration solution in the reservoir (4, 5).

  • Patent number: 10331705
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can automatically name moments (e.g., a time-based collections of images) based on the accuracy of the location data corresponding to the captured image. The computing device can, for example, send location coordinates for an image associated with a moment to a location server. The computing device can receive a hierarchical list of location strings corresponding to the location coordinates from the location server. The computing device can filter the location strings based on an accuracy metric associated with the location coordinates for the image. The computing device can suggest or select a name for the collection of images based on the filtered location strings.

  • Publication number: 20190173544
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing beamforming techniques to choose transceivers in a wireless mesh network are disclosed. Multiple transceivers are deployed in a wireless virtual reality (VR) environment to provide a high quality path to send an encoded video stream from a graphics source to a head-mounted display (HMD) receiver. When a master transceiver connected to the graphics source does not have a line of sight connection to the HMD, the master transmitter sends the encoded video stream on a path though one or more passive transceivers that have good line of sight connections on the path to the HMD. To determine the quality of the wireless links between the various transceivers and the HMD, beamforming training procedures are performed. These beamforming training procedures are implemented to determine how to route the encoded video stream from the master transceiver to the HMD.

  • Patent number: 10313393
Abstract: Systems and methods for securely pairing a transmitting device with a receiving device are described. The systems and methods may communicate with a first device via a first communication method over a wireless communication network. The systems and methods may acquire from the first device via a second communication method, a first sensory pattern representing a first key, the first key being a security key, wherein the second communication method is different from the first communication method. In addition, the systems and methods may determine the first key by deciphering the first sensory pattern using a deciphering scheme. Further, the system and methods may communicate with the first device via the first communication method using the first key.

  • Publication number: 20190101638
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing a dual-purpose millimeter-wave frequency band transmitter are disclosed. A system includes a dual-purpose transmitter sending a video stream over a wireless link to a receiver. In some embodiments, the video stream is generated as part of an augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) application. The transmitter operates in a first mode to scan and map an environment of the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter generates radio frequency (RF) signals in a first frequency range while operating in the first mode. Additionally, the transmitter operates in a second mode to send video data to the receiver, and the transmitter generates RF signals in the first frequency range while operating in the second mode.

  • Publication number: 20190008793
Abstract: A new method of targeted drug administration to wounds (surgical or traumatic), intrasite (IS), offers advantages in treatment efficacy and safety over traditional routes of administration. A novel method of dosing IS medications based on wound surface area provides the parameters for safe and effective dosing, a necessary advance for any FDA approval. Large IS doses increase risk of toxicity from impurities allowed in drugs given by other routes. Methods are presented for ultrapurification, particularly of endotoxins. Methods are presented for sterile delivery to the wound, to prevent aerosolization, and to homogenize application. Pharmacodynamic parameters make certain drugs advantageous as IS agents, including slow trans-wound surface diffusion, protein binding, and limited local tissue toxicity. Vancomycin is a prototypical drug with these features and is therefore very useful as an IS medication.
