  • Publication number: 20130103833
Abstract: In a Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIP) network, a mobile node can roam between different access networks while maintaining a consistent IP address for session continuity. To provide access to a user's home LAN resources, even when the user's mobile node is not directly attached to the home LAN, a local mobility anchor and mobility access gateway are configured to authenticate the mobile node credentials and if authorised, to provide access to the user's LAN resources by via data tunnels and routing table reconfigurations.

  • Patent number: 8393932
Abstract: A doll's seamless garment which is adapted to be dressed, fitted and be removed in a life-like manner from a doll having a height in the range of above 8 cm to about 32 cm, wherein the doll is bendable at least in part. The garment is molded from an elastomeric material or rubber having an average modulus of elasticity of less than 1 MN/m2. The garment wall thickness is preferably in the range of about 1 mm to about 3 mm. Further disclosed is a skin. The skin is adapted to be dressed, fitted and removed from a doll to transform the doll into a different character or object, and wherein the skin is molded in at least one part from an elastomeric material. The skin may have a wall thickness from 1 to 3 mm, the material having an average modulus of elasticity of less than 1 MN/m2. The garments are easily manipulated by children and provide opportunities for creative play. Still further disclosed is a play set comprising, in cooperative combination, a doll donned and fitted with a garment.

  • Publication number: 20120312114
Abstract: Certain embodiments of a system for reducing backlash include a member geared for rotation in first and second directions. In various implementations, a first motor causes rotation in the first direction with an output biased to preclude space between mating gear components in the first direction, and a second motor, which is mechanically independent of the first motor, causes rotation in the second direction with an output biased to preclude space between mating gear components in the second direction.

  • Patent number: 7542902
Abstract: A voice platform monitors a conversation between a call center agent and a caller to identify any predetermined keywords or phrases used in the conversation therebetween. These keywords or phrases can then be used to interface into an existing knowledge management system in order to allow information from the system to be pushed to the agent, thus improving agent efficiency. In a preferred embodiment additional processing is provided which generates an information item score based in the detected keywords or phrases, and those information items with the highest scores are then pushed to the agent, by displaying shortcuts to the information to the agent in the form of a shortcut tree.

  • Patent number: 7189909
Abstract: A camera assembly for filming the hands of a musician playing a finger board instrument includes a guiding device mounted to the finger board instrument. A stage movably engages the guiding device. A camera is mounted on the stage for filming the hands of the fingerboard user as the hands travel along the finger board. A driving device, such as a linear motor, is connected to the stage for moving the stage along the guiding device. A means for controlling the camera is also provided, either manually from a remote location or by visual tracking. A sensor senses the velocity and position of the stage and outputs a detection signal to the control means. The control means transmits command signals to the driving device for actuating movement of the camera along the guiding device.

  • Publication number: 20060161147
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a surgical ablation device. Two electrodes of an ablation device against the surface of tissue. The tissue impedance is measured between the electrodes. The electrodes are energized based on the measured tissue impedance. If the measured tissue impedance is between a first threshold impedance and a second threshold impedance, the electrodes are energized to output a substantially constant wattage. If the measured tissue impedance is greater than the second threshold impedance, the electrodes are energized to output a variable wattage, the variable wattage being inversely related to the impedance of the tissue.

  • Publication number: 20050203562
Abstract: A surgical dissector comprising an elongate shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. A blunt dissection tip is positioned on the distal end of the elongate shaft. A light source emits a diffuse visible energy, such as white light, from the blunt tip. The shaft may take a variety of shapes, including being rigid, flexible, malleable, straight, bent, curved, articulated, and/or segmented. In addition, the shaft may include one or more functional components. The dissector can be used to locate the dissector tip by observing the visible energy passing through tissue. In addition, the visible energy passing through tissue may be used to differentiate tissue.

  • Patent number: 6820855
Abstract: An air flow control valve including a valve body having an internal cavity and an inlet and outlet in flow communication with the internal cavity, the axes of the inlet and outlet being aligned at substantially 90° to each other, a valve seat located within the cavity and co-axially aligned with the outlet, the valve seat being located on the distal end of an upstanding tubular pedestal which is formed around the outlet, the internal cavity being configured so as to define an annular space around the pedestal with which the inlet is in flow communication; a flexible generally planar diaphragm mounted above the valve seat, the diaphragm supporting a valve closure member which is adapted to engage the valve seat to close the valve, valve control means for causing the diaphragm to move towards and away from the valve seat to close and open the valve respectiely; and the valve being characterised in that, with the valve oriented with the inlet axis horizontal and the outlet facing downwards, the valve seat is

  • Publication number: 20020130554
Abstract: A vehicle security system includes a vehicle anti-theft controller in communication with an identification system and a power distribution system. The power distributing system limits power to the ignition system starter motor. The power distribution system supplies power at various levels in response to commands by the vehicle anti-theft controller. In an unarmed state, the starter motor is operable when the power distribution system provides a first power level thereto. In an armed state, a second power level, which is typically much lower than the first, is adequate to operate the identification system and vehicle accessory systems but not the starter motor.

  • Patent number: 5819222
Abstract: A speech recognition system recognizes connected speech using a plurality of vocabulary nodes, at least one of which has an associated signature. In use, partial recognition paths are examined at decision nodes intermediate the beginning and end of the recognition path, each decision node having an associated set of valid accumulated signatures. A token received by a decision node is only propagated if the accumulated signature of that token is one of those in the set of valid accumulated signatures associated with that decision node.
