  • Patent number: 10146303
Abstract: A method to provide visual feedback for gazed-based user-interface navigation includes presenting, on a display, a first image representing a digital object available for user interaction, recognizing a user gaze axis, and computing a point of intersection of the user gaze axis through the first image. An offset distance between the point of intersection and a reference position of the first image then recognized, and a second image is presented on the display. The second image is presented displaced from the point of intersection by an amount dependent on the offset distance.

  • Patent number: 10147234
Abstract: A method for providing electrical system status information to a mobile device user is presented. The method comprises receiving a request for target area electrical system status information from a mobile device, determining the pose of the mobile interface device relative to the target area, obtaining target area electrical system status information for a target electrical system at least partially disposed within the target area, and assembling AR electrical system status information for transmission to and display on the mobile interface device. The AR electrical system status information is assembled using the target area electrical system status information and is configured for viewing in conjunction with a real-time view of the target area captured by the mobile interface device. • Patent number: 10099244
Abstract: The present invention provides actuation mechanisms that incorporate a transmission assembly that allows the mechanisms to cause actuation of workpieces according to a plurality of transmission modes (e.g., at least one forward transmission mode and at least one reverse transmission mode) on demand. Motion, direction, and/or force can be controlled by selecting the corresponding transmission mode. The mechanisms preferably are trigger-actuated by hand (i.e., manually) to cause movement of a workpiece in a desired direction. Desired directions can be linear or nonlinear. The same hand used for trigger action can also be used to change transmission modes in many modes of practice, even while using substantially the same grip used for trigger actuation. In other instances, actuation can be automated rather than manual. Preferably, both actuation and witching among transmission modes can be accomplished with one hand, even while maintaining substantially the same grip that is used for actuation.

  • Publication number: 20180268390
Abstract: Within EMV payment specification, use of an unattended terminal to accept a payment is allowed. Creating a device that has both EMV level 1 (L1) and level 2 (L2) payment components combined with a virtual merchant creates a “card present” transaction for an on-line or e-commerce merchant. This device can be called a personal Point of Sale (pPOS). This specification discloses pPOS devices and methods that can provide for card present e-commerce transactions with a payment kernel that is local and/or remote to a pPOS device. In some embodiments, a pPOS device can include only a secure microcontroller function (MCF) and a secure element, wherein a payment kernel configured to process payment is local, remote, or split between local and remote to the device. In some embodiments, a pPOS device can further include a reader, a sensor switch, and/or a user interface function.

  • Publication number: 20180115700
Abstract: The present disclosure provides approaches to simulating depth of field. In some implementations, an optimal scan distance of a camera from a subject in a physical environment is determined for a scan of the subject by the camera. A blur level is iteratively updated to correspond to a proximity of the camera to the determined optimal scan distance as the proximity changes during the scan. For each update to the blur level from the iteratively updating, an image comprising a three-dimensional (3D) model of the physical environment depicted at the updated blur level is generated on a user device associated with the scan.

  • Patent number: 9849238
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention utilize a closed-loop feedback control system to ensure accurate drug delivery. This control system may, for example, utilize a flow sensor to measure the volume of delivery and an intelligent control algorithm to anticipate and compensate for overdoses and underdoses. Feedback control systems in accordance herewith can be applied to any piston- or plunger-driven pump system utilizing sensors that measure flow directly or indirectly. In some embodiments, adjustments are made during a “priming” stage when liquid is pumped through the internal fluid path but does not exit the pump.

  • Publication number: 20170341008
Abstract: A device and method for producing a reformate fuel from a hydrocarbon gas source. The invention enables the conversion of a dilute hydrocarbon gas into a more easily consumable reformate fuel. Gases having low concentrations of hydrocarbons are concentrated using a concentrator into a gaseous or liquid concentrated VOC fuel. The concentrated VOC fuel is then converted into a reformate using a reformer. The reformate is more easily consumed by an energy conversion device such as a combustion engine, fuel cell, sterling engine or similar device that converts chemical energy into kinetic or electrical energy. The reformer enables complex hydrocarbon fuels that are not normally suitable for use in an energy conversion device to be converted into a reformate. The reformate may be directly supplied into the energy conversion device.
