  • Publication number: 20110219531
Abstract: A method of improving pool surface agitation, to reduce settling of debris at low filter pump RPMs, comprising use of standard eyeball fittings that permits unrestricted return flow, and a second eyeball fitting configuration comprising a bi-fold split-disk butterfly valve being normally biased into a closed position. The biasing is calibrated to selectively inhibit filter pump return flow below a threshold flow rate. One or more standard eyeball fittings and one or more second eyeball fittings are alternately installed in a pool's sidewall. When the filter pump is operated at high RPMs, the selective return flow comprises return flow being discharged through standard eyeball fittings and through second eyeball fittings; and when the filter pump setting is reduced whereby return flow is below the threshold, the selective return flow comprises butterfly valves in second eyeball fittings closing, with the return flow being discharged solely through the standard eyeball fittings.

  • Publication number: 20110141693
Abstract: A cooling device has a finless heat sink (1) which is rectangular in plan, having two spaced-apart plates (5, 6). A fan impeller (2) and motor (3) are supported between the plates (5, 6) for axial air flow in (7) and radial flow out. The device is placed on an electronic component (4) to be cooled. The component (4) may be an electronic package, for example. The heat sink (1) is manufactured from a single piece of conducting material. There is a rotor support (8) on the top plate (5), supporting a fan rotor (3). The rotor support (8) is in a device inlet for axial flow into the fan impeller (2). There are two opposed side walls (9) interconnecting the plates 5 and 6. The device outlet is the gap between the plates (5, 6) along the open sides. • Publication number: 20110080041
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for controlling an electronic device. An exemplary method comprises employing a look-up table to derive waveform value data for a multi-phase reference waveform. The exemplary method also comprises employing the look-up table to derive waveform value data corresponding to harmonic data for the multi-phase reference waveform. Harmonic data is injected into the multi-phase reference waveform to produce a harmonic reference waveform. The exemplary method additionally comprises generating a plurality of control signals from the harmonic reference waveform.

  • Patent number: 7562099
Abstract: A media management system communicates to a user the availability of media data at different qualities (such as compression quality or resolution), or from different channels, that originated from one or more sources. Given a selection of media objects, whether a set of media files, a sequence of clips or other collection of objects, the corresponding sources are identified. Media objects originating from or related to each of these sources are identified. A display is generated indicating, for each channel from the source, at each quality of data originating from that source, the media objects related to the source. Each media data file originating from that source is represented according to its channel and quality, as a time span corresponding to the time span of the source from which the data originated. Logged, but not captured, media data, and other media objects, also may be represented in the display.

  • Patent number: 7512885
Abstract: An editing system has a graphical user interface that shows media/metadata and metadata/metadata relationships and allows a user to navigate a graph defined by these relationships. Using this graphical user interface, a user may determine, for example, which masterclips are used in a sequence, or which sequences are using those masterclips. Such information can be useful for many purposes. For example, by identifying all masterclips used in a sequence, the media files associated with these masterclips can be readily recaptured in a different format. The graphical user interface provides simple navigation of such relationships by using two panes. Each pane may receive and display indications of any media data or metadata object type defined in the problem domain. In an editing system, such object types may include objects such as projects, sequences, clips and media files.

  • Patent number: 7463710
Abstract: A fractional-N synthesizer with programmable output phase including a phase locked loop having an output signal whose frequency is a fractional multiple of an input reference signal, the phase locked loop including a frequency divider. A synchronization circuit responsive to the input reference signal for generating synchronization pulses at integer multiples of M periods of the input reference signal. An interpolator is responsive to F and M, where F is the fractional value and M is the modulus, to provide to the frequency divider an output which is a fractional value equal to, on average, the input fraction. A phase adjustment circuit is responsive to the synchronization circuit for varying the phase of the output signal with respect to the input reference signal.

  • Publication number: 20080095332
Abstract: A telephone call is established between a local telephone (110) associated with a local party and a remote telephone (104) associated with a remote party. The local telephone (110) receives a voice signal from the remote telephone (104) responsive to establishing the telephone call. The voice signal represents directory assistance information, a name, a phone number or directions provided by the remote party. The local telephone (110) stores the voice signal in a memory unit (212) in the local telephone (110) responsive to receiving the voice signal. The local telephone (110) converts the voice signal to a text signal responsive to storing the voice signal. The local telephone (110) stores the text signal in the memory unit (214) in the local telephone (110) responsive to converting the voice signal to a text signal. The local telephone (110) edits the stored text signal in the memory unit responsive to storing the text signal.

  • Publication number: 20070133519
Abstract: A user of a telecommunications device (102), such as a wireless terminal, or the like, selects certain actions that should be taken when a circuit call is received while a packet data session is active (200). These actions include interrupting the packet data session, or not interrupting the packet data session, which may be determined based on stored options specific to the subscriber and/or a query to the subscriber device (216). When a switching system detects that a subscriber device has an incoming circuit call during an active packet data session, the switching system queries a subscriber database and determines the appropriate action to take (210, 212, 214). The appropriate action is based on, for example, the calling number, time of day, date, duration of the packet data session, an instantaneous or simultaneous query to the subscriber device or a type of packet data session that is active.

  • Publication number: 20070121825
Abstract: A method and apparatus permit handling of unwanted calls from callers such as telemarketers, when caller identification is provided. In one embodiment, the called party adds the caller identification information for the telemarketer to a personal list after receiving the unwanted call. Subsequent calls from the telemarketer are intercepted. In a second embodiment, the called party identifies the telemarketer by detecting the caller identification information before answering the call. By providing a screen listing indication, the caller identification information is added to the called party's personal list before the call is completed, permitting the call to be intercepted and while future calls from the telemarketer to be intercepted.

  • Publication number: 20060293050
Abstract: A wireless network and method are disclosed that provide temporary data service to a party. For the invention, a temporary data service system receives a request from a first party to establish temporary data service for a second party. The temporary data service system then configures the wireless network to establish temporary data service for the second party, such as by setting up a temporary subscriber profile or temporary account for the second party in the wireless network. A notification system then generates a notification message indicating that the temporary data service has been established for the second party, and transmits the notification message to the second party. The second party may use the temporary data service to access some type of data message or data file, such as a picture message sent by the first party.

  • Publication number: 20060099946
Abstract: In a 3G CDMA2000 IS-2000 wireless communications system, a base station at the border between two packet zones, transmits an Extended System Parameters message that includes the identity of a primary packet zone supported by that base station as well as the identities other secondary adjoining packet zones supported by that base station. When transiting the borders between packet zones, a dormant mobile terminal will not request a reconnection until its current packet zone is no longer listed in the Extended System Parameters message received from the base station in the cell in which it is currently located. Thus, the mobile terminal will not need to repeatedly initiate a reconnection in each packet zone as moves back and forth across packet zone borders. Alternatively, the Extended System Parameters message includes a special value packet zone identity that is interpreted by the receiving mobile terminal to mean “no change.
