  • Patent number: 11081116
Abstract: In general, techniques are described by which to embed enhanced audio transports in backward compatible bitstreams. A device comprising a memory and one or more processors may be configured to perform the techniques. The memory may store the backward compatible bitstream, which conforms to a legacy transport format. The processor(s) may obtain, from the backward compatible bitstream, legacy audio data that conforms to a legacy audio format, and obtain, from the backward compatible bitstream, extended audio data that enhances the legacy audio data. The processor(s) may also obtain, based on the legacy audio data and the extended audio data, enhanced audio data that conforms to an enhanced audio format, and output the enhanced audio data to one or more speakers.

  • Publication number: 20200149539
Abstract: Technologies are described for devices and methods for adjusting a position of impellers within a bowl assembly. The devices may comprise an adjuster at the second end of a spacer coupling. The adjuster may include an adjuster sleeve. The adjuster sleeve may be a cylindrical sleeve. The adjuster sleeve may be threaded on an internal side. The adjuster sleeve may be spaced from the driven hub so that the adjuster sleeve can rotate around a driven shaft. The adjuster sleeve may threadedly mate and engage with an externally threaded first end of the driven shaft when the adjuster sleeve is rotated. The rotation of the adjuster sleeve may adjust a position of the driven shaft with respect to the driven hub and may thereby adjust a position of an impeller attached to a second end of the driven shaft with respect to a stationary bowl.

  • Publication number: 20200134363
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for automated feature selection and model generation are described. A device (e.g., a server, user device, database, etc.) may perform model generation for an underlying dataset and a specified outcome variable. The device may determine relevance measurements (e.g., stump R-squared values) for a set of identified features of the dataset and can reduce the set of features based on these relevance measurements (e.g., according to a double-box procedure). Using this reduced set of features, the device may perform a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression procedure to sort the features. The device may then determine a set of nested linear models—where each successive model of the set includes an additional feature of the sorted features—and may select a “best” linear model for model generation based on this set of models and a model quality criterion (e.g., an Akaike information criterion (AIC)).

  • Publication number: 20200056664
Abstract: Rotating equipment includes driver equipment, driven equipment and a rotating shaft coupling. The driver equipment includes a driver support connected to a stationary driver shaft, and also includes a driver arranged on the driver support with a driving shaft to rotate and provide a rotational torque. The driven equipment includes a driven unit support connected to a stationary driven unit shaft, and also includes a driven unit arranged on the driven unit support with a driven shaft to respond to the rotational torque and rotate. The rotating shaft coupling couples the driving shaft to the driven shaft and applies the rotational torque from the driving shaft to the driven shaft. The stationary driver shaft couples to the stationary driven unit shaft to provide a static torque load to counteract the rotational torque applied from the driving shaft to the driven shaft during operation.

  • Publication number: 20190197086
Abstract: A binary outcome of an activity is predicted based on samples of the activity. The activity is characterized by features that can take on any of a set of mutually exclusive levels. An initial candidate pool of terms is selected. The terms are feature levels or combinations of feature levels. The candidate terms are used to create two ordered pools of terms, one including terms that are positively predictive and another including terms that are negatively predictive. The terms in each pool are ordered by strength of predictiveness and diversity of predictiveness relative to terms higher in the order. A final set of terms is selected by combining terms from these two pools.
