  • Publication number: 20210386436
Abstract: A system for improving graft harvesting is disclosed including a tendon harvesting instrument for producing a graft from a tendon. The instrument includes a handle, a shaft and a blade portion operatively coupled to the shaft. The blade portion defines a cutting edge that at least partially corresponds to the shape of a graft cross section of the graft. The blade portion is inserted into the tendon by axially rotating the instrument shaft. The blade portion may include a free end for piercing the tendon as the blade portion is rotated into the tendon. The harvesting instrument may also include amputating means for removing the end connection of the graft to the tendon, the amputating means including a means of changing an orientation of an end portion of the cutting edge.

  • Publication number: 20210330399
Abstract: Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, surgical tracking devices, and systems that facilitate improved tracking in surgical environments are disclosed. With this technology, a fiber optic shape sensing (FOSS) device is rigidly attached to patient anatomy and/or surgical instrument(s) to facilitate location and/or flexibility tracking. The data provided by the FOSS device can be analyzed and registered to preoperative or intraoperative 3D anatomy model(s). The FOSS device can be attached to a surgical instrument to provide intraoperative guidance, used to locate a hollow needle for tracking bones in a minimally invasive manner, and/or used to detect bending in an instrument such as an arthroscope or tissue removing burr shaft, for example. The tracked location and/or flexibility data provided by the FOSS device can also be used to automatically control the location and/or operation of a surgical instrument during a surgical proceeding to facilitate improved surgical accuracy and patient outcomes.

  • Patent number: 11153619
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for streaming multimedia data includes receiving a request to stream, by a first computing device, a first multimedia data file stored on a second computing device. The computer-implemented method further includes determining a first recommendation to skip viewing of a first logical segment included in the multimedia data file, wherein the first recommendation is based, at least in part, on analyzing a set of user insight information corresponding to a first classification associated with the first logical segment. The computer-implemented method further includes determining that a first confidence score associated with the first recommendation is below a predetermined threshold level. The computer-implemented method further includes providing, in response to determining that the first confidence score is below the predetermined threshold level, the first recommendation to a user while streaming the first multimedia data file via the first computing device.

  • Patent number: 11093594
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for cognitive user identification recommendation. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for cognitive user identification recommendation includes monitoring typing patterns of an end user as the end user enters data in different fields of different applications of a computing device having a device type and categorizing each of the fields and applications according to field type and application type. The method further includes generating a data structure mapping the user typing patterns to each type of field and application to model user input behavior of the end user. The method also includes transmitting the data structure to a requesting application for prompting the end user to provide a particular type of password mapped to the modeled user input and consistent with a field type of the password and a type of requesting application.

  • Patent number: 11080026
Abstract: A system may provide a programming environment combining visual programming and text based programming. The system may determine a first node and a second node of a first plurality of nodes are native function call nodes of a visual graph-based programming language and determine a third node of the first plurality of nodes is a text-based node including text-based statements in a text-based programming language. In response to determining the third node of the first plurality of nodes is the text-based node, the system may interpret the text-based statements into a second plurality of nodes, the second plurality of nodes being native function call nodes of the visual graph-based programming language. The system may then generate a combined code based on the first plurality of nodes and the second plurality of nodes and compile the combined code.

  • Publication number: 20210222152
Abstract: Methods of extracting chromatin from tissue, such as formalin fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue, are provided. The methods are rapid, simple, and preserve the chromatin signature. The methods can include, for example, removal of the tissue from the paraffin, enzymatic digestion of the extracellular matrix, and exposure to ultrasound energy, optionally in the presence of a cavitation enhancement agent, such as microbubbles, nanobubbles, and/or phase-change nanodroplets. The methods can also include a mechanical tissue dissociation step. The methods provide chromatin fragments that are free of enzyme bias from fragmentation by enzymes such as micrococcal nuclease (MNase) and that are of optimal size for further quantification and/or identification. Kits for extracting chromatin from tissue are also provided.
