  • Patent number: 10433833
Abstract: An apparatus includes first and second fixation members, a flexible member coupled to the first and second fixation members, and a limiting element coupled to the flexible member. The limiting element is movable relative to the second fixation member and acts to limit loosening of the flexible member relative to the second fixation member. The limiting element can be slidably received by the flexible member. The flexible member can be coupled to the fixation members such that pulling on a free end of the flexible member shortens a length of the flexible member between the fixation members.

  • Publication number: 20190288869
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for remotely managing proxy devices through a gateway device. An example method can include establishing electronic communication between the gateway device and a remotely located management server. The management server can transmit a management agent to the gateway device. The management agent can be software that is configured to receive and carry out commands provided by the management server. The management server can also transmit a plugin to the gateway device. The plugin can be configured to translate a first command, received from the management server, into a second command that is capable of being carried out by the proxy device. The method can also include transmitting the first command, including an executable instruction, from the management server to the gateway device. The first command can instruct the gateway device to cause the proxy device to perform an action.

  • Patent number: 10400270
Abstract: A technique that uses nanotechnology to electrically detect and identify RNA sequences without the need for using enzymatic amplification methods or fluorescent labels. The technique may be scaled into large multiplexed arrays for high-throughput and rapid screening. The technique is further able to differentiate closely related variants of a given bacterial or viral species or strain. This technique addresses the need for a quick, efficient, and inexpensive bacterial and viral detection and identification system.

  • Patent number: 10306418
Abstract: A location of a target associated with a first system is determined at the first system at a first time. A signal is constructed at the first system where the data of the signal includes an identifier indicative of a collision avoidance nature of the signal. The signal is broadcast from the first system. the broadcasting causes a second system to receive the signal; compute a likelihood of a collision between the first system and the second system using the location from the signal, a velocity of the first system, a location of the second system at the first time, and a velocity of the second system at the first time; and send a notification from the second system about the likelihood of collision when the likelihood of collision exceeding a threshold likelihood.

  • Publication number: 20190108213
Abstract: An approach is provided in which a fault-injecting system injects a natural language fault into a first text segment to produce a second text segment that are both written in a natural language. The fault-injecting system receives a third text segment from a reviewer that includes at least one correction to the second text segment. The fault-injecting system compares the third text segment against the first text segment and generates an efficacy score. The efficacy score indicates whether the correction in the third text segment corrects the natural language fault. In turn, the fault-injecting system sends the efficacy score to an author of the first text segment.
