  • Patent number: 9335223
Abstract: Methods and circuits for measuring the temperature of a transistor are disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes, providing a current into a circuit, wherein the circuit is connected to the transistor. A variable resistance is connected between the base and collector of the transistor. The circuit has a first mode and a second mode, wherein the current in the first mode flows into the base of the transistor and through the resistance and the current in the second mode flows into the emitter of the transistor. Voltages in both the first mode and the second mode are measured using different resistance settings. The temperature of the transistor is calculated based on the difference between the different voltages.

  • Patent number: 9336622
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to create better-looking animated eyes for CG characters. The systems and methods set the rigging of each eye to, rather than precisely converge on a target location, converge but be rotationally or angularly offset by a certain amount to simulate correct physical eye positioning and movements. In addition, the systems and methods provide even more realistic eye appearance by taking account of the refractive properties of the cornea, e.g., which can make the pupil appear larger than it actually is. The systems and methods may further take account of a shadowing effect of the upper eye caused by the brow, eyelashes, and upper lid (as well as an effect caused by reflection from the underside of the eyelashes). This darkening of the upper portion of the eye addresses vertical eyeline discrepancies caused by the visual and optical illusion of incorrect lighting.

  • Patent number: 9335982
Abstract: Examples described herein emulate a processing architecture using multiple translations of the same source binary. A first translation binary includes compiler optimizations not present in a second translation binary. During runtime, a dispatcher directs control flow of a CPU when branch instructions are reached. Specifically, a dispatcher directs a CPU to execute instructions in the first translation binary, and accesses the second translation binary when an instruction is to a target that is not addressable in the first translation binary. The first and second translation binaries enable a target processing architecture to emulate a source processing architecture without just-in-time compilation or other runtime interpretation.

  • Patent number: 9333350
Abstract: A therapy system for managing a psychiatric disorder of the patient may be controlled based on a patient mood state. Therapy may be delivered to a patient according to a therapy program, and a physiological parameter of the patient may be monitored during or after therapy delivery. The patient mood state may be determined based on the monitored physiological parameter, and the therapy delivery may be controlled based on the determined mood state. In some embodiments, the therapy delivery is stopped prior to determining the patient mood state and the therapy delivery is restarted upon detecting a negative mood state. In other embodiments, therapy delivery is delivered until a positive mood state is detected, at which point the therapy delivery may be stopped.

  • Patent number: 9336124
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing and launching a test application on a first machine that is automatically executed on a second machine. A developer can prepare a test application on the first machine, and instead of the developer performing multiple steps to copy the test program to a second machine and set up the test environment, the method can automatically detect test environment data, and transmit the test application and the test environment data. Test environment data can include the directory of where the test program should be installed and executed. The test application can be run on the second machine and the results can be returned to the first machine where they can be displayed to the developer.

  • Patent number: 9334937
Abstract: A linear guide including a guide rail, a carriage, a drive screw and a connection arrangement is provided. The guide rail defines a linear travel path. The carriage is mounted to the guide rail for motion along the linear travel path. The drive screw is operably mounted to the guide rail. The connection arrangement couples the drive screw to the carriage to convert rotary motion of the drive screw to linear actuation of the carriage along the linear travel path. The connection arrangement provides a single degree of linear freedom between the drive screw and the carriage in a direction that is generally perpendicular to the linear travel path. The single degree of linear freedom permits relative motion between the screw and the carriage to relieve internal binding between the relative components.

  • Patent number: 9333417
Abstract: A cooperative tile game played on a surface and having bifurcated tiles formed of conjoined hexagons each having an indicia of value. Play is initiated by selecting and placing one or more tiles on the surface in a three-tile triangular initial configuration. Players first exchange tiles from their hand with those in the initial configuration to achieve a predetermined set of tiles in the initial configuration. Subsequent rounds begin with a tile from the previous round. During play tiles are placed in turn such that at least one edge of a hexagonal portions is adjacent to an edge of a hexagonal portion of a previously placed tile having the same indicia of value and such that no edge of is adjacent to a side having a different indicia of value. Play proceeds until all playable tiles are placed. The value of waste tiles is subtracted from the value of created assets to achieve a score. All players achieve the same score.

  • Patent number: 9336450
Abstract: Methods and systems for selecting a target vehicle for occupancy detection utilizing vehicle identification information. The vehicle identification information (e.g., license plate information) can be obtained from a vehicle identification unit (e.g., ALPR) to identify a vehicle approaching a high occupancy measurement zone. The vehicle identification information from the vehicle identification unit can be transferred to a vehicle occupancy unit having a flash illuminator unit and an image-capturing unit. The flash illuminator unit and the image-capturing unit are not enabled if the vehicle's occupancy state has already been measured at a prior location based on the vehicle identification information. The vehicle occupancy detection unit and the vehicle identification unit work together in a coordinated fashion to reduce the number of times the flash illuminator unit needs to fire and extends the life of the illuminator unit, thus reducing the cost of maintenance.

  • Patent number: 9334859
Abstract: A helium management control system for controlling the helium refrigerant supply from a common manifold supplies cryogenic refrigerators with an appropriate helium supply. The system employs sensors to monitor and regulate the overall refrigerant supply. An appropriate supply of helium is distributed to each cryopump. If the total refrigeration supply exceeds the demand, or consumption, excess refrigerant is directed to cryogenic refrigerators which can utilize the excess helium to complete a current cooling function more quickly. If the total refrigeration demand exceeds the total refrigeration supply, the refrigerant supply to some or all of the cryogenic refrigerators will be reduced accordingly so that detrimental or slowing effects are minimized based upon the current cooling function.
