  • Patent number: 9336356
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a technique that applies a network policy responsive to specified events, or triggers, to a networked device. If a specified event occurs, the network policy may restrict the device's access to the network. For example, if a user walks away from their networked device, such as a laptop, the device's network access changes. For example, depending upon the policy, network traffic may be blocked or otherwise restricted.

  • Patent number: 9336087
Abstract: Fault tolerant operation is disclosed for a primary match server of a financial exchange using an active copy-cat instance, a.k.a. backup match server, that mirrors operations in the primary match server, but only after those operations have successfully completed in the primary match server. Fault tolerant logic monitors inputs and outputs of the primary match server and gates those inputs to the backup match server once a given input has been processed. The outputs of the backup match server are then compared with the outputs of the primary match server to ensure correct operation. The disclosed embodiments further relate to fault tolerant failover mechanism allowing the backup match server to take over for the primary match server in a fault situation wherein the primary and backup match servers are loosely coupled, i.e. they need not be aware that they are operating in a fault tolerant environment.

  • Patent number: 9334508
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for enriching monomer content in a cycloalkane oxidation process mixed organic waste stream. In particular, the methods involve combining a biocatalyst with a mixed organic waste stream from a cycloalkane oxidation process, and enzymatically converting dimeric and/or oligomeric components of said waste stream into monomeric components. The methods may enrich the content of diacids, adipic acid, and/or other ?,?-difunctional C6 alkanes in the mixed organic waste stream. Additionally, the treated mixed organic waste streams may have improved burning efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9337398
Abstract: A method for fabricating an LED/phosphor structure is described where an array of blue light emitting diode (LED) dies are mounted on a submount wafer. A phosphor powder is mixed with an organic polymer binder, such as an acrylate or nitrocellulose. The liquid or paste mixture is then deposited over the LED dies or other substrate as a substantially uniform layer. The organic binder is then removed by being burned away in air, or being subject to an O2 plasma process, or dissolved, leaving a porous layer of phosphor grains sintered together. The porous phosphor layer is impregnated with a sol-gel (e.g., a sol-gel of TEOS or MTMS) or liquid glass (e.g., sodium silicate or potassium silicate), also known as water glass, which saturates the porous structure. The structure is then heated to cure the inorganic glass binder, leaving a robust glass binder that resists yellowing, among other desirable properties.

  • Patent number: 9335966
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for unsupervised wakeup of a device including receiving a first acoustic event at a first time and a second acoustic event at a second time, wherein scores of the first and second acoustic events are above a first threshold identifying the first and second acoustic events as wakeup candidates for a wakeup phrase for an unsupervised wakeup of a device. It is determined that the first acoustic event is above a second threshold, which is higher than the first threshold, and that the second acoustic event is above a third threshold, which is higher than the first threshold. Occurrence of a wakeup event can be determined based upon acoustic similarity of the events.

  • Patent number: 9334187
Abstract: A reformable area and a non-reformable area of a sheet of glass material are heated to a first temperature corresponding to a first viscosity. The reformable area is subsequently locally heated to a second temperature corresponding to a second viscosity, where the second viscosity is lower than the first viscosity. A bend is formed in the reformable area during the local heating of the reformable area by contacting a first pusher with the non-reformable area and translating the first pusher along a linear path to apply a pushing force to the non-reformable area that results in the bend in the reformable area or by contacting a second pusher with an edge area of the reformable area and rotating the pusher along a circular path to apply a pushing force to the edge area of the reformable area that results in the bend in the reformable area.

  • Patent number: 9338641
Abstract: In a mobile network with a plurality of access networks, a control node, which is controlling access of a user equipment to that one of the access networks which is currently used by the user equipment, performs a determination of an access capability of the user equipment in this access network. The control node provides an indication of the determined access capability to a subscriber database associated with the user equipment. When transmitting the indication, a guard timer is started. After determining the access capability, the control node receives an update indication for the user equipment. In response to receiving the update indication, the control node performs a redetermination of the access capability. Further, the control node checks if the guard timer has expired and, only if the guard timer has not expired, provides a further indication of the redetermined access capability to the subscriber database.

  • Patent number: 9338043
Abstract: A data processing apparatus maps input symbols to be communicated onto a predetermined number of sub-carrier signals of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (OFDM) symbol. The data processor includes an interleaver memory which reads-in the predetermined number of data symbols for mapping onto the OFDM sub-carrier signals. The interleaver memory reads-out the data symbols on to the OFDM sub-carriers to effect the mapping, the read-out being in a different order than the read-in, the order being determined from a set of addresses, with the effect that the data symbols are interleaved on to the sub-carrier signals. The set of addresses are generated from an address generator which comprises a linear feedback shift register and a permutation circuit.

  • Patent number: 9337548
Abstract: A method is provided introducing a phase difference between signals at antenna ports of an antenna such that a first signal at one of the antenna ports has a different phase than a second signal at another one of antenna ports to obtain an antenna pattern control. A reduced power is used that is lower than the power used in a non-pattern control operation of the antenna such that a wireless link performance criteria is met with equipment at a far-field point using the reduced power compared to the non-pattern control operation, thereby reducing a specific absorption rate.
