Publication number: 20180346013Abstract: An assembly is disclosed, in which a rigid ramp is rigidly connected to a tubular upper part of a steering column for interaction with a displaceable part of an instrument panel. Interaction between the tubular upper part and the displaceable part moves the displaceable part in a reliable manner out of the way during an impact scenario, during which a steering wheel is displaced towards the instrument panel. Displacement of the displaceable part by the rigid ramp permits the steering wheel to be fully displaced without the instrument panel hindering such motion.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2018Publication date: December 6, 2018Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Edward Joseph ABRAMOSKI, Paul Mark MARABLE, Pieter Christopher VAN AST

Patent number: 10010088Abstract: Poultry carcasses are chilled rapidly when exposed to a flow of gaseous air at a temperature in the range from about ?50° C. to about ?120° C. for a period of time in the range from about 1 s to about 60 s. The flow is directed over and into the body cavity of the carcasses. The carcasses are orientated in the flow such that the sternum of each carcass faces downstream. One advantage of the process is that the number of viable microorganisms present on the carcasses is reduced significantly while avoiding freeze-damage to the carcasses.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2015Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.Inventors: Jean-Philippe Trembley, Paul Mark Ames

Patent number: 9963563Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure present systems and methods for the reversible solubilization of (aryl ether ketones) (PAEKs). A thioacetalization process is employed to modify the PAEKs into poly (aryl ether thioacetals) which, unlike PAEKs, are substantially soluble in common solvents. This modification allowing selected analysis techniques to be more easily performed on PAEKs, such as gel permeation chromatography. The thioacetalization may be reversed through a deprotection reaction to recover the original PAEK without substantial degradation, allowing for non-destructive characterization of the PAEK. Advantageously, the thioacetalization process is generally applicable to a broad range of PAEKs, unlike presently known methods of solubilizing PAEKs. Solubilization of PAEKs further expands the utility of the PAEKs, opening up additional routes to chemical modification of PAEKs, as well as allowing for the possibility of processing PAEKs from solution.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2017Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: CYTEC TECHNOLOGY CORP.Inventors: Howard Matthew Colquhoun, Patrick Terence McGrail, Francois Pierre Vincent Paoloni, Philip Hodge, Ioannis Manolakis, Paul Mark Cross

Patent number: 9940224Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing and launching a test application on a first machine that is automatically executed on a second machine. A developer can prepare a test application on the first machine, and instead of the developer performing multiple steps to copy the test program to a second machine and set up the test environment, the method can automatically detect test environment data, and transmit the test application and the test environment data. Test environment data can include the directory of where the test program should be installed and executed. The test application can be run on the second machine and the results can be returned to the first machine where they can be displayed to the developer.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2016Date of Patent: April 10, 2018Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Paul Marks, Jonathan Deutsch
