  • Publication number: 20070009659
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for depositing at least one layer, which contains at least one first component, on at least one substrate in a process chamber, first and second starting materials, of which at least the first starting material contains the first component, being introduced in gaseous form into the process chamber in a cyclically alternating manner, in order to deposit substantially only one layer at a time of the first component with every cycle. In order to increase the spectrum of suitable staring materials that are available the invention proposes that a first starting material which does not intrinsically allow itself to be deposited in a self-limiting manner, is used and, a limiter formed of a hydrocarbon is introduced into the process chamber in such a way that the depositing of the first component on the substrate automatically ends after completion of the first layer.

  • Publication number: 20060249081
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for depositing at least one layer on at least one substrate in a process chamber. Said layer comprises several components and is insulating, passivating or electrically conductive. The components are vaporized in a tempered vaporization chamber by means of non-continuous injection of a liquid starting material or a starting material dissolved in a liquid using a respective injector unit. Said vapor is guided to the process chamber by means of a carrier gas. It is important to individually adjust or vary the material flow parameters, such as injection frequency and the pulse/pause ratio and the phase relation of the pulse/pauses to the pulse/pauses of the other injector unit, determining the time response of the flow of material through each injector unit. The pressure in the process chamber is less than 100 mbars, the process chamber is tempered and several series of layers are deposited on the substrate during one process step.

  • Publication number: 20050006321
Abstract: In a wastewater treatment process involving in-line removal of settled solids through a submerged solids collection manifold, the invention provides devices (and methods?) for resuspending concentrated solids using hydraulic pressure waves to improve removal through the collection manifold. The pressure waves are preferably created by cycling on/off signals to the solids collection pump at a user selected frequency. In some applications resuspension is provided by air scouring. The inventions result in improved solids removal and longer run times for the treatment processes with reduced need for mechanical agitators or scrapers.

  • Patent number: 6833066
Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid filter, for example an oil filter for cleaning lubricating oil, especially for use in internal combustion engines of motor vehicles. A ring-shaped filter insert separates an unclean side from a clean side in the interior of the liquid filter. A metal filter housing comprises a first flange with which the liquid filter can be screwed to a component via a screw connection, said component having an inlet for uncleaned liquid, an outlet for cleaned liquid and a relatively pressureless idle duct. The first flange contains an axially acting outer seal that includes inlet, outlet and idle duct, and a carrier receiving compartment encircled by the outer seal.

  • Publication number: 20040219333
Abstract: In a method of producing an imitation wood component firstly a starting component is provided which has a surface area to be processed, onto which an adhesion layer is applied. After drying of the adhesion layer at least one coat of lacquer of wooden color is applied to the adhesion layer and spread by using a textile cloth in order to produce an optical structure looking like wood. After drying of the coat of lacquer, a protective layer is applied which again has to dry. A component is made by this method, the properties of which are remarkably like those of natural wood. Using natural wood parts can be dispensed with, leading to a reduced consumption of wood and, hence, to a sparing of natural resources.

  • Publication number: 20040191820
Abstract: A protein identified in humans and Schizosaccharomyces pombe, Pot1p, binds single-stranded telomeric DNA and both stabilizes chromosome ends and regulates telomerase activity. Compounds that stabilize or disrupt the Pot1p-DNA interaction will be useful in regulating the telomere length of a cell. Because telomere length is involved in the regulation of cellular life-span, the life-span of useful cell populations may be prolonged or undesirable cells may be caused to cease proliferation. The identification of a Pot1 protein and its encoding DNA provides methods of screening useful compounds or diagnosing illnesses that involve altered expression or structure of a Pot1 protein or gene.
