  • Publication number: 20040162867
Abstract: An apparatus and method for DFT processing using prime factor algorithm (PFA) on a selected number P of midamble chip values received by a CDMA receiver, where P has a plurality M of relatively prime factors F, and the DFT process is divided into M successive F-point DFT processes. The P data values are retrieved from a single input port memory and selectively permuted by a controller into parallel caches to optimize factoring with associated twiddle factors stored in parallel registers. The permuted inputs are factored in two or more parallel PFA circuits that comprise adders and multipliers arranged to accommodate any size F-point DFT. The outputs of the PFA circuits are processed by consolidation circuitry in preparation for output permutation of the values which are sent to memory for subsequent DFT cycles.

  • Publication number: 20040066412
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of and a computer device for displaying window areas on a screen. A control means determines continuously which one of a plurality of window areas (21, 22, 23, 25) is activated as an active window area (21) and checks whether another user input can be executed in connection with the active window area (21). Such other input, detectable by the contol means, relates to the processing of electronic speech data executable under an application program which the computer device can carry out and for which a user surface is displayed in the active window area (21). If indeed the other input detected can be executed in connection with the active window area (21) an audio data functional area (27) will be displayed on the screen in a foreground of the screen. Thus the user of the computer device is offered a selection of operating functions of the computer device for generating and/or processing the electronic speech data.

  • Publication number: 20020105235
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling an electrical power supply for operating an electrical appliance. The apparatus has a voltage input (20, 21) and a voltage output (22, 23) connected to it. A load measurement device (26) is used to determine an electrical measurement variable which is characteristic of an electrical voltage produced at the voltage output (22, 23). The electrical connection between the voltage input (20, 21) and the voltage output (22, 23) is switched by means of a load switching device (25) such that a standby voltage or an operating voltage is produced at the voltage output (22, 23). The load switching device (25) is controlled as a function of the determined electrical measurement variable such that the presence of the operating voltage at the voltage output (22, 23) is limited to a predetermined time period, and the standby voltage is produced at the voltage output (22, 23) at times which are not included in the predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 4922120
Abstract: A slip-controlled hydraulic brake system with improved operational reliability during the slip control phase of operation has a master cylinder having shortened overall axial length. The master cylinder includes a valve-opening mechanism of one central control valve supported on the bottom of the longitudinal bore of the master cylinder, and the valve-opening mechanism of another central control valve supported on the secondary piston wherein during a slip control action, in the presence of a predetermined travel of the pistons of the master cylinder, a force component is generated that increases the reliability of the opening of the central control valves.

  • Patent number: 4900101
Abstract: A brake system with slip control is disclosed including a master cylinder to which wheel brakes are connected through controllable main valves. An auxiliary-pressure supply system including a hydraulic pump, a regulating and pressure-monitoring valve and a pressure-compensating and pressure-fluid supply reservoir is connected to the wheel brakes through electromagnetically actuatable inlet and outlet valves. The outlet valves are normally closed in their inactive condition with each one pair of wheel brakes communicating directly with one inlet valve and one outlet valve. Wheel sensors and an electronic circuitry determine the wheel rotational behavior and generate electric braking-pressure control signals for operating the inlet and outlet valves. The inlet valves are closed in their inactive condition and are switched to open upon actuation and have their inlet side directly connected with the auxiliary-pressure supply system and their outlet side directly connected with the main valves.

  • Patent number: 4891945
Abstract: The brake pressure generator (1) includes a tandem master cylinder (2) actuable by two booster pistons (19, 32) to which a hydraulic auxiliary pressure is applied and by a pedal actuating mechanism (17,18). A control valve (14, 20) controls the auxiliary boost pressure. The control valve, through an actuator (16), cooperates with the pedal actuating mechanism (17,18). One booster piston (32) is disposed on the bottom of the tandem master cylinder (2) adjacent the push rod (22). Normally-open valve (37) closes when brake pressure exceeds boost pressure to trap fluid in chamber (34).

  • Patent number: 4818038
Abstract: A brake system for vehicles with electronic anti-lock control and traction slip control is equipped with a dual-circuit braking pressure generator (1) with preferably diagonal brake-circuit allotment. In the control phases, an auxiliary-pressure supply system (5), instead of the braking pressure generator (1), is hydraulically connected to the wheel brakes. Each brake circuit (I, II) contains, in the pressure-fluid conduits from the braking pressure generator to the wheel brakes, one joint multi-directional control valve (10, 11) and, connected in series thereto, individual wheel multi-directional control valves (12 to 15) which are likewise open in their inoperative position. In lieu of the braking pressure generator, the auxiliary-pressure supply system (5)--which generates pressure proportional to the pedal force during anti-lock control, while it generates uncontrolled pressure during traction slip control--is connected to the wheel brakes during the control phases.

  • Patent number: 4793663
Abstract: Through a valve arrangement for brake systems of automotive vehicles comprising an electronic antilocking and traction slip control including a two-circuit brake pressure generator (3) and an auxiliary pressure supply system (5) generating an auxiliary pressure proportional to the pedal force and, in traction slip control, generating an uncontrollable auxiliary pressure, either the brake pressure generator (1) or the auxiliary pressure supply system is capable of being connected to the wheel brakes (26-29). The non-driven wheel (HR, HL) of the vehicle is connected directly while the drive wheel (VR, VL) of the vehicle is connected, through an additional multi-way valve, to the brake pressure generator (1) and to the auxiliary pressure supply system (12). Moreover, the wheel brakes (27, 29) of the driven wheels (VR, VL), through additional multi-way valves (20, 21) for the traction slip control, can be directly connected to the auxiliary pressure supply system(5).

  • Patent number: 4663298
Abstract: The method for determining endotoxin concentrations in samples and, if present, interfering factors by adding defined amounts of endotoxin to the sample and computational evaluation of the reaction kinetics can be improved by adding, to at least two identical preparations of a sample, different amounts of endotoxin. These endotoxin amounts, however, are at least ten times the amount of the endotoxin to be determined in the sample. By determining a regression line as the reference curve from the measured values, the endotoxin amount of a preparation of the sample to which no endotoxin has been added is determined. The effect caused by interfering factors and the endotoxin neutralization capacity can be determined from the slope and position of the regression line. The absorbance in a turbidimetric measurement may be enhanced by using a small amount of a chromogenic substrate whereby a reduction in the amount of the sample preparation to be assayed will be possible.

  • Patent number: 4658939
Abstract: For the control of a brake unit for automotive vehicles, electric signals are generated dependent on the operation of the brake pedal. The signals are processed in an electronic circuit (8) and logically linked to sensor signals containing information on the brake power, the braking effect and/or on the rotational behavior of the individual wheels. Electrically actuatable wheel brakes (1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 33) equipped with an electric drive (M) are controlled by the generated signals. Through a second brake system, brake power is transmitted by the brake pedal (5, 5') either simultaneously or upon overcoming a threshold value to the wheels of one axle, preferably to the front wheels, i.e. front right, front left wheels (VR, VL), the brake power becoming, however, effective exclusively in the event of a fault or a failure of the electrical brake system or of the electric power supply.
