Abstract: Devices and methods for deploying an anastomotic stent between portions of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract are disclosed. The anastomotic stents are configured to atraumatically engage the tissue walls and to permit the flow of fluid, partially digested food, and food. The stents can be deployed using endoscopic catheter devices, laparoscopic tools, and combinations of both endoscopic tools and laparoscopic tools. Examples of anastomoses include anastomoses between the stomach and a portion of the intestines such as the jejunum. Anastomoses can also be formed between two closed ends of the intestines, such as two closed ends of the colon formed during a colon resection procedure. Anastomoses can also be formed between a fundal pouch formed during a gastric bypass procedure and the jejunum. Laparoscopic tools are disclosed to deploy a stent by selectively removing a radial restraint on a self expanding stent with the restraint removed through the laparoscopic access points.

The method includes identifying a consumer during a point of sale transaction for purchasing different food items by a point of sale computer system, for example by scanning a bar code or reading a magnetic strip of a loyalty program card or reading a radio frequency identification (RFID) dongle. A list of the different food items can be provided to the smart refrigerator, for example from storage in the loyalty program card or RFID dongle, or as transmitted from the point of sale computer system to the smart refrigerator over a computer communications network. The selected process execution component identifies a process definition in view of the process instance message and obtains state information associated with the event from a consistent image store component of the segmented business process engine. The selected process execution component generates a result associated with the event in view of the state information and the process definition and provides the result to at least one of the client application or another process instance identification component.

Abstract: An audio system provides modified audio signals for acoustic output sources (speakers) disposed around a listening area. A sound allocation processor receives an audio source signal. A plurality of audio modifying elements, each of which may comprise one or more custom filters, operate separately on the audio source signal and provide a custom output signal for each acoustic output source. The audio modifying elements may modify a gain and/or a phase characteristic of the audio source signal independently for each acoustic output source in order to create a substantially uniform sound level or desired sound field pattern over the listening area or within defined zones within the listening area. A global equalization adjustment may also be applied. Search algorithms may be used to arrive at appropriate parameters for the audio modifying elements.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a set of service definitions relating to a computer application based on a set of activity events associated with a service. Based on an examination of an existing service of interest, a set of activity traces is extracted from the set of activity events and common activity events in each activity trace are identified. The common activity events are transformed into service actions and a service definition is generated including the service actions. The generated service definition may then be deployed on a suitable computing system, such as, for example, a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform.
