  • Publication number: 20240119019
Abstract: A process includes coupling a push-pull driver of a first bus device to a plurality of communication lines that are associated with a first bus to allow the first bus device to access the first bus using push-pull signaling. The process includes sharing a set of communication lines with the second bus. The sharing includes coupling an open drain driver of a second bus device to the set of communication lines to allow the second bus device to access the second bus using open drain signaling. The sharing includes using the set of communication lines in first time periods in which the first bus device accesses the first bus and using the set of communication lines in second time periods other than the first time periods in which the second bus device accesses the second bus. The sharing includes isolating a push-pull driver of the first bus device from the set of communication lines responsive to the second time periods.

  • Publication number: 20240094398
Abstract: A system for determining a pose of a vehicle and building maps from vehicle priors processes received ground intensity LIDAR data including intensity data for points believed to be on the ground and height information to form ground intensity LIDAR (GIL) images including pixels in 2D coordinates where each pixel contains an intensity value, a height value, and x- and y-gradients of intensity and height. The GIL images are formed by filtering aggregated ground intensity LIDAR data falling into a same spatial bin on the ground and using a registration algorithm to align two GIL images relative to one another by estimating a 6-degree-of-freedom pose with associated uncertainty that minimizes error between the two GIL images. The aligned GIL images are provided as a pose estimate to a localizer. The system may provide online localization and pose estimation, prior building, and prior to prior alignment pose estimation using image-based techniques.

  • Patent number: 11828891
Abstract: A scintillation block detector employs an array of optically air coupled scintillation pixels, the array being wrapped in reflector material and optically coupled to an array of silicon photomultiplier light sensors with common-cathode signal timing pickoff and individual anode signal position and energy determination. The design features afford an optimized combination of photopeak energy event sensitivity and timing, while reducing electronic circuit complexity and power requirements, and easing necessary fabrication methods. Four of these small blocks, or “miniblocks,” can be combined as optically and electrically separated quadrants of a larger single detector in order to recover detection efficiency that would otherwise be lost due to scattering between them.

  • Patent number: 11787616
Abstract: Flexible multilayer laminates may have an improved integrated, one-way pressure-release valve for use in a sealed container for packing gas-producing products. The pressure-release valve is partly disconnected from the rest of the laminate, forming an inflatable outlet tube with at least one large outlet opening and lifting off from the laminate under increased pressure in the pack. The one-way pressure-release valve allows for pressure-release at low minimum opening pressure in a reliable and reproducible way.

  • Publication number: 20230314416
Abstract: Methods for enhancing the binding rate between at least two particulate binding partners are disclosed. Methods include flowing a first binding partner and a second binding partner, e.g., in a viscoelastic fluid, under conditions to chemically bind the first binding partner and the second binding partner to create a third binding partner. The flow conditions induce a particle size dependent, migration, e.g., radial, velocity differential between the first binding partner and the second binding partner and between the first binding partner and third binding partner, e.g., to increasing a collision frequency of the nanoparticles and the larger particles. Devices for enhancing the binding rate between at least two particulate binding partners are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230280243
Abstract: Methods are herein described which reduce the non-specific light scattering background from polymeric microspheres in aqueous suspension to a level where individual metal or metal-like plasmonic nanoparticles that have been chemically bound to the surface of individual polymeric microspheres can be imaged by high resolution optics and enumerated by image analysis software. The non-specific light scattering background is reduced by employing aqueous-miscible solvents to remove residual water at the microsphere surfaces and resuspending the microspheres in a fluid having a refractive index substantially similar to the refractive index of polymeric microspheres. Embodiments of the method disclosed herein enable sensitive quantitative assays for ligand receptor binding, antigen antibody binding and nucleic acid hybridization binding. The embodiments disclosed herein further may employ polystyrene microspheres and gold plasmonic nanoparticles.

  • Publication number: 20230266129
Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for locating a vehicle. A pose state estimator may access a previous position for the vehicle at a first time, wherein the previous position is on a first sub-map of a plurality of sub-maps. The pose state estimator may receive from a first localizer a first position estimate for the vehicle at a second time after the first time. The first position estimate may be on a second sub-map of the plurality of sub-maps. The pose state estimator may send to a second localizer a sub-map change message indicating the second sub-map.

  • Publication number: 20230099385
Abstract: A process includes, responsive to a computer platform being in a pre-operating system mode of operation, a first controller receiving serial data from a first external communication connector of the computer platform and the first controller providing a video output based on the serial data; and routing the video output of the first controller to a display device connector. The process includes, determining whether a video driver of the computer platform is communicating with a second controller via a second external communication connector of the computer platform. The video driver is associated with an operating system mode of operation of the computer platform. The process includes, in response to determining that the video driver is communicating with the second controller, routing a video output of the second controller to the display device connector in place of the video output of the first controller.

  • Publication number: 20230071784

  • Patent number: 11430064
Abstract: Real time or near real time assessment of the quality of securities transactions is accomplished by intercepting order and execution communications between trader and broker, comparing the execution data with contemporaneous market data relative to the transaction or transactions involved, and informing the trader of that comparison. This is accomplished without interrupting or impeding the trader-broker communications, except that a broker-trader communication may, if desired, be interrupted and relevant data aggregated until the aggregate reaches a desired value. It is preferred that the comparison be between the volume-weighted average price of the securities transaction and the volume-weighted average price of the market data for that security, over the life of the order. A particular effective way to communicate the quality evaluation to the trader is disclosed.
