  • Patent number: 10679338
Abstract: The present approach relates to the use of a point cloud of an object to initialize or seed a space carving technique used to generate a 3D model of the object. In one implementation, feature matching is performed on 2D images, with matched features constituting the points of a point cloud model. The point cloud generated in this manner, is one input of a foreground/background segmentation algorithm, which generates a set of segmented 2D images used by a space carving routine to generate a 3D model of the object.

  • Patent number: 10679754
Abstract: An example method includes: classifying lung function risk based on patient attributes and a clinical protocol; generating alarms and incentives for compliance with the clinical protocol based on patient attributes, clinical protocol, and patient lung function risk; determining an orientation and position of a clinical device based on tagged feature(s) of the clinical device compared to identified patient feature(s); monitoring patient interaction with the clinical device; identifying a deviation from the clinical protocol based on the monitored patient interaction, a patient biometric indicator, and a desired setpoint state in the protocol; when a deviation is identified, providing feedback proportional to the deviation, the feedback including an adjustment with respect to the clinical protocol and/or the clinical device; and triggering at least one alarm and/or incentive based on deviation and feedback, wherein the alarm/incentives differs based on whether and to what extent deviation is identified and feed

  • Patent number: 10674307
Abstract: Determination of a set of acoustic parameters for a headset is presented herein. The set of acoustic parameters can be determined based on a virtual model of physical locations stored at a mapping server. The virtual model describes a plurality of spaces and acoustic properties of those spaces, wherein the location in the virtual model corresponds to a physical location of the headset. A location in the virtual model for the headset is determined based on information describing at least a portion of the local area received from the headset. The set of acoustic parameters associated with the physical location of the headset is determined based in part on the determined location in the virtual model and any acoustic parameters associated with the determined location. The headset presents audio content using the set of acoustic parameters received from the mapping server.

  • Patent number: 10645520
Abstract: An audio system on a headset presents, to a user, audio content simulating a target artificial reality environment. The system receives audio content from an environment and analyzes the audio content to determine a set of acoustic properties associated with the environment. The audio content may be user generated or ambient sound. After receiving a set of target acoustic properties for a target environment, the system determines a transfer function by comparing the set of acoustic properties and the target environment's acoustic properties. The system adjusts the audio content based on the transfer function and presents the adjusted audio content to the user. The presented adjusted audio content includes one or more of the target acoustic properties for the target environment.

  • Publication number: 20190373576
Abstract: One or more location-based clients can be activated on a mobile device for providing location-based services. The location-based clients can be provided with information (e.g., presets, defaults) related to the current location and/or mode of the mobile device. The information can be obtained from one or more network resources. In some implementations, a location-based client can concurrently display map and vehicle information related to a location of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20190349323
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for increasing messaging activity in a messaging system. Using the interactions of users with each other and/or with the messaging system, the disclosed systems and methods can predict how likely a pairing of two or more users are to engage in a highly active messaging thread. Based on this prediction, the disclosed methods and systems can, for example, more effectively organize contact lists and conduct promotional efforts associated with messaging features.

  • Publication number: 20190332127
Abstract: Embodiments are described for detecting optical discrepancies associated with image capture analyzing pixels in multiple images corresponding to common points of reference in a physical environment. In an embodiment, photometric error values are averaged over time to compute the mean error at each pixel. Once the estimate of the mean error has a sufficient number of updates above a specified value, the estimate is thresholded to provide a mask of any optical discrepancies occurring in the stereo pair of images. Applications include detecting optical discrepancies in images captured for use by a visual navigation system in guiding an autonomous vehicle (e.g., an unmanned aerial vehicle).

  • Patent number: 10462217
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to messaging, and in particular address several aspects of initiating a group conversation. When a user interacts with a messaging system, the system determines whether it is likely that the user intends to start a group conversation or a one-to-one conversation. Intent to start a group conversation can be signaled in a number of ways, such as: type of action requested; interactions with particular UI elements; length of message; analysis of previous user preferences; and analysis of a contacts group. Suggested users to add to the group may be dynamically displayed. The group can be selected in a number of ways, including: analysis of social network information; analysis of events or activities in which the user may be engaged; analysis of user affinities; analysis of the current members of the group; analysis of familial or friend relationships; and analysis of previous messaging activity.
