  • Patent number: 10268513
Abstract: A computing system may be configured to implement a plurality of agents each associated with a predetermined number of CPU cores and a predetermined amount of memory and to receive requests to perform tasks. A request may specify the number of CPU cores and amount of memory for performing the task. Allocation of resources may include determining multiple allocation profiles, each describing a possible allocation of cores and memory to the task from currently available CPU cores and memory associated with the agents. For each agent and for each of said allocation profiles, respective efficiency measures for memory usage and CPU usage may be calculated. An allocation profile may be selected using said calculated memory usage and CPU usage efficiency measures.

  • Publication number: 20180229080
Abstract: A system and method for using weather applied metrics for determining the impact of weather conditions on the flight of a ball at an outside sports venue. Historical and current data for weather parameters, including wind, air pressure, humidity, temperature, and rain, are obtained to calculate the influence of each parameter on the flight of a ball. The influences of each of the parameters are summed to model the flight of the ball based on the current weather conditions. Weather instruments, such as weather sensors, anemometers, LiDAR and SODAR devices, weather consoles, data routing devices, and processors can be included in a system for using weather applied metrics to predict the flight of a ball based on current weather conditions.

  • Patent number: 9936820
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to the field of juvenile products, specifically infant support or nursing pillows, the intent of which is to support an infant in a variety of settings by providing a stable surface upon which to rest. Various embodiments include a generally crescent shaped device, comprised of a resilient fill material surrounded by a fabric shell and having a top and a bottom surface connected by a band of uniform width extending vertically and wholly about the perimeter of the pillow. The top and bottom surfaces are distinctly different in dimension, resulting in the pillow having an asymmetrical cross section, with one side having generally more loft and the other being substantially flat along a plane perpendicular to the perimeter band. A medial region between two extending arms forms a well, for the purpose of receiving a human torso or small child.

  • Publication number: 20180038727
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the location of a substantially horizontal fluid interface within a vessel are provided. The apparatus has a generally linear source array comprising a plurality of sources of penetrating radiation and a generally linear detector array comprising a plurality of radiation detectors capable of detecting radiation emitted by the sources. The source and detector arrays are located so that radiation emitted from each source can follow a linear path from the source, through the vessel and material to the detectors. Comparing the amount of radiation received by at least two of the detectors from a source provides an indication of the relative density of the material through which radiation has passed. The linear axes of the source and detector array are oriented with respect to the horizontal interface such that the linear axes intersect the plane of the interface at an angle between 10 and 80 degrees.
