Patent number: 12637062Abstract: A path for an autonomous tractor to move a trailer from a start spot to an ending spot has at least one path segment and a variation indicator that indicates a path variant for the autonomous tractor to follow for the path segment. The autonomous tractor follows the path variant to reduce wear caused by repetitive use of the same path by the autonomous tractor. The path variant may be selected as a least frequented path variant or may be selected as having carried the least amount of weight.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2023Date of Patent: May 26, 2026Assignee: Outrider Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Peter James, Andrew Smith, Lawrence Klein, Jeremy Nett

Publication number: 20260054703Abstract: A system and method for allowing failover between an autonomously controlled braking system and a human controlled braking system in a truck having pneumatic brake lines is provided. A cab-mounted brake actuator is arranged to be handled by the human operator and is arranged to selectively deliver pressurized air to truck brakes and a trailer brake air supply. A controller performs autonomous braking operations in response to control inputs and senses when a human operator is handling the actuator. A plurality of valves, interconnected between a pressurized air source on the truck, the actuator, the truck brakes and the trailer brake air supply, are responsive to the controller, and are arranged to override selective delivery of pressurized air to the truck brakes of the truck and the trailer brake air supply in response to the autonomous braking operations in favor of selective delivery of pressurized air via the actuator.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2025Publication date: February 26, 2026Inventors: Peter James, Gary Michael Seminara, Lawrence S. Klein

Publication number: 20260014703Abstract: A system and method for operation of an autonomous vehicle (AV) yard truck is provided. A processor facilitates autonomous movement of the AV yard truck, and connection to and disconnection from trailers. A plurality of sensors are interconnected with the processor that sense terrain/objects and assist in automatically connecting/disconnecting trailers. A server, interconnected, wirelessly with the processor, that tracks movement of the truck around and determines locations for trailer connection and disconnection. A door station unlatches/opens rear doors of the trailer when adjacent thereto, securing them in an opened position via clamps, etc. The system computes a height of the trailer, and/or if landing gear of the trailer is on the ground and interoperates with the fifth wheel to change height, and whether docking is safe, allowing a user to take manual control, and optimum charge time(s). Reversing sensors/safety, automated chocking, and intermodal container organization are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2025Publication date: January 15, 2026Inventors: Andrew F. Smith, Lawrence S. Klein, Stephen A. Langenderfer, Martin E. Sotola, Vikas Bahl, Mark H. Rosenblum, Peter James, Dale Dee Rowley, Matthew S. Johannes, Gary Michael Seminara, Jeremy M. Nett

Publication number: 20250353711Abstract: Automated jackstand systems and methods deploy a jackstand to support a front end of a trailer parked at an automated loading dock. The jackstand prevents collapse of the trailer's landing gear and prevents upending of the trailer during loading and unloading. Advantageously, by deploying the jackstand automatically, presence of personnel in the yard where tractors and trailers are moving is not required.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2025Publication date: November 20, 2025Inventors: Andrew F. Smith, Martin Edward Sotola, Peter James, Lawrence S. Klein, Matthew Steven Johannes, Jonathan Record, Garold McKinney

Publication number: 20250002040Abstract: This provides a system and method for handling the interchange of trailers between an over the road (OTR) truck and an autonomous vehicle (AV) yard truck in a facility yard includes an interchange zone (IZ) that is bounded by a predetermined boundary structure, having an OTR entry gate and an OTR exit gate on a first side and an AV entry gate and an AV exit gate on a second side. The system and method further includes a management process that selectively opens and closes each of the OTR entry gate, the OTR exit gate, the AV entry gate and the AV exit gate according to a predetermined set of rules.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2024Publication date: January 2, 2025Inventors: Andrew F. Publication number: 20240418902Abstract: The disclosure provides a diamagnetically stabilized magnetically levitated gravimeter and related method that allows measurements of relative gravity in a simple, low power consumption device based on a magnetic levitation principle using permanent magnets instead of using a mechanical spring. The gravimeter uses magnetic forces to balance a float magnet against the force of gravity, allowing for accurate measurements. The gravimeter includes a float magnet that floats between two diamagnetic materials, such as diamagnetic plates, without a need for external energy input due to the interaction between the magnetic forces of the float magnet lifted by the lift magnet but stabilized between upper and lower diamagnetic materials. The gravimeter is less sensitive to drift in response to stresses than a mechanical spring, have a lower temperature sensitivity, and lower energy and power requirements to take similarly reliable gravity measurements, which in turn simplify deployment and prolong operational lifetime.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2024Publication date: December 19, 2024Applicant: BAYLOR UNIVERSITYInventors: Alexandre Yokochi, Peter James, Annette Von Jouanne

Publication number: 20240190969Abstract: The present invention relates to specific binding molecules, such as T cell receptors (TCRs), that bind the HLA-A*02 restricted peptide KVLEYVIKV (SEQ ID NO: 1) derived from the germline cancer antigen MAGEA1. The specific binding molecules may comprise non-natural mutations within the alpha and/or beta variable domains relative to a native MAGEA1 TCR. The specific binding molecules of the invention are particularly suitable for use as novel immunotherapeutic reagents for the treatment of malignant disease.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2020Publication date: June 13, 2024Inventors: Chandramouli CHILLAKURI, Jorge DIAS DO NASCIMENTO, Conor HAYES, James PARKER, Peter JAMES, Ronan O'DWYER, Andrew POOLE
