  • Publication number: 20240257101
Abstract: Methods that control use, trace ownership and authenticity of digital assets and/or brandmarks in a metaverse environment. The methods involve obtaining a first set of control properties associated with a digital asset and a second set of control properties associated with a brandmark. The first set of control properties define first usage rules for rendering the digital asset in the metaverse environment in which a user is immersed into a virtual environment and the second set of control properties define second usage rules for rendering the brandmark in the metaverse environment. The methods further involve determining whether the digital asset is compatible with the brandmark based on the first set of control properties and the second set of control properties and rendering the digital asset with the brandmark in the metaverse environment based on determining that the digital asset is compatible with the brandmark.

Abstract: A system and method for allowing failover between an autonomously controlled braking system and a human controlled braking system in a truck having pneumatic brake lines is provided. A cab-mounted brake actuator is arranged to be handled by the human operator and is arranged to selectively deliver pressurized air to truck brakes and a trailer brake air supply. A controller performs autonomous braking operations in response to control inputs and senses when a human operator is handling the actuator. A plurality of valves, interconnected between a pressurized air source on the truck, the actuator, the truck brakes and the trailer brake air supply, are responsive to the controller, and are arranged to override selective delivery of pressurized air to the truck brakes of the truck and the trailer brake air supply in response to the autonomous braking operations in favor of selective delivery of pressurized air via the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20240238675
Abstract: An augmented reality system generates computer-mediated reality on a client device. The client device has sensors including a camera configured to capture image data of an environment. The augmented reality system generates a first 3D map of the environment around the client device based on captured image data. The server receives image data captured from a second client device in the environment and generates a second 3D map of the environment. The server links the first and second 3D together in a singular 3D map. The singular 3D map may be a graphical representation of the real world using nodes that represent 3D maps generated by image data captured at client devices and edges that represent transformations between the nodes.

  • Publication number: 20240231724
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a controller that allows a display device to display a settings screen for setting of a function by a user and executes a job based on a user setting made through the settings screen; and a backup device that backs up as backup data the user setting on a storage device each time the user setting is made. When execution of the job based on the user setting is completed, the controller deletes the user setting from the storage device. When, in newly displaying a settings screen on the display device for another job, the user setting for a function configurable on the settings screen is saved on the storage device, the controller determines the content of the user setting as a content of a setting for the job and allows the display device to display the settings screen showing the content of the setting.

  • Publication number: 20240232307
Abstract: Methods that generate a proof-of-life indicator used by a metaverse platform to indicate whether an avatar is being controlled by or is representative of a human user or a software-based entity. In these methods, a plurality of data streams are obtained from a plurality of sensors that are configured to monitor activity of a user that is active within the metaverse environment. The plurality of data streams relate to behavioral and biometric characteristics of the user that is interacting within the metaverse environment. The methods involve determining whether the user is a human user or a software-based entity based on aggregating attribute information extracted from the plurality of data streams, generating a proof-of-life indicator that indicates whether the user is the human user or the software-based entity and a confidence level associated with the proof-of-life indicator, and providing the proof-of-life indicator in the metaverse environment.
