  • Publication number: 20240429721
Abstract: A multiple bank battery charging system for charging two or more battery circuits simultaneously via voltage control only is disclosed. The multiple bank battery charging system does not monitor current of the charging current nor use current to control generation of the charging current. Instead, the multiple bank battery charging system only monitors voltage of the charging current generated by a controller. The multiple bank battery charging system may include a single output for sending the charging current to the multiple battery circuits for charging. As such, the multiple bank battery charging system is configured to charge multiple battery circuits simultaneously via a charging current discharged on a single outlet. The multiple bank battery charging system may also be configured to charge batteries having any battery chemistry.

  • Publication number: 20240418902
Abstract: The disclosure provides a diamagnetically stabilized magnetically levitated gravimeter and related method that allows measurements of relative gravity in a simple, low power consumption device based on a magnetic levitation principle using permanent magnets instead of using a mechanical spring. The gravimeter uses magnetic forces to balance a float magnet against the force of gravity, allowing for accurate measurements. The gravimeter includes a float magnet that floats between two diamagnetic materials, such as diamagnetic plates, without a need for external energy input due to the interaction between the magnetic forces of the float magnet lifted by the lift magnet but stabilized between upper and lower diamagnetic materials. The gravimeter is less sensitive to drift in response to stresses than a mechanical spring, have a lower temperature sensitivity, and lower energy and power requirements to take similarly reliable gravity measurements, which in turn simplify deployment and prolong operational lifetime.

  • Patent number: 12164820
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a controller that allows a display device to display a settings screen for setting of a function by a user and executes a job based on a user setting made through the settings screen; and a backup device that backs up as backup data the user setting on a storage device each time the user setting is made. When execution of the job based on the user setting is completed, the controller deletes the user setting from the storage device. When, in newly displaying a settings screen on the display device for another job, the user setting for a function configurable on the settings screen is saved on the storage device, the controller determines the content of the user setting as a content of a setting for the job and allows the display device to display the settings screen showing the content of the setting.

  • Publication number: 20240402703
Abstract: A system and method for operation of an autonomous vehicle (AV) yard truck is provided. A processor facilitates autonomous movement of the AV yard truck, and connection to and disconnection from trailers. A plurality of sensors are interconnected with the processor that sense terrain/objects and assist in automatically connecting/disconnecting trailers. A server, interconnected, wirelessly with the processor, that tracks movement of the truck around and determines locations for trailer connection and disconnection. A door station unlatches/opens rear doors of the trailer when adjacent thereto, securing them in an opened position via clamps, etc. The system computes a height of the trailer, and/or if landing gear of the trailer is on the ground and interoperates with the fifth wheel to change height, and whether docking is safe, allowing a user to take manual control, and optimum charge time(s). Reversing sensors/safety, automated chocking, and intermodal container organization are also provided.

  • Patent number: 12141141
Abstract: A system enables an arbitrary number of items to be indexed in a geographic region that provides a predictable query response time across a sharded database. Items indexed to the geographic region are stored on a single shard and additional items are added to that shard as long as an overflow condition indicative of undesirable query response times is not met. If the overflow condition is met the system expands the storage of items indexed to the geographic region to one or more additional shards in order to maintain predictable query response times. The system may maintain a shard count representing the total number of shards being used to store items corresponding to a geographic region, which can be used to query one or more relevant shards. The system may apply deterministic hashing in order to evenly distribute shards across database nodes of the sharded database.
