    Abstract: A connector arrangement comprises a rigid inner conductor (107), a dielectric sleeve (111) arranged around the inner conductor and a rigid outer conductor (109) arranged around the sleeve. A surface of at least one of the inner conductor, the sleeve and the outer conductor is provided with a taper, such that the sleeve fixes the relative transverse positions of the inner and outer conductors at a first end of the arrangement and not at a second end of the arrangement. The inner conductor is longitudinally slidable relative to the outer conductor. Such an arrangement is suitable for use in hostile environments, such as in high temperature pipelines, in which there are large temperature variations and in which the positional variation of mating connectors is high.

The switch (10) includes a housing (11) with an exposed upper face (22) having an entrance (24) for receiving the connector plug. First and second contacts (12, 14) are mounted on the housing, with the first contact including a resilient beam (18) biased up against the second contact but deflectable downwardly out of engagement with the second contact. An electrically conductive projection (19) projects upward at least partially through an opening (26) at the bottom entrance, so the center contact element of the plug does not have to project deeply through the opening in order to operate the switch and electrically connect to the beam.

    Abstract: An innovative but easy to use on-line guide is provided to provide the user of a multiple channel television broadcast system a wealth of programming information in a simple format that is easy to understand. The guide enables the user to easily select a particular program to watch. In particular, when the guide is presented to the user, the guide covers only a portion of the actual television screen or display. The remaining portion of the television screen continues to broadcast the audio and video of the currently selected program. As a user scans through the guide and moves the pointer from one station to another, the system responds by automatically tuning to the channel pointed to by the pointer and provides the audio and displays the video in the portion of the screen not covered by the guide. Thus, the user can easily get an idea of the broadcast on a particular station without exiting the guide and without expressly selecting a particular channel.
