Abstract: An apparatus is provided for measuring a torque in a force-feedback actuator for a steer-by-wire steering system has a housing element, a control unit, a drive apparatus, and a transmission apparatus to be coupled to a steering device. At least one motion sensor detects a motion of the transmission apparatus relative to the housing element and provide a motion signal resulting from the motion to the control unit. The transmission apparatus is coupled to the housing element by way of at least one reset-reversible adjusting device which has at least one mechanical property. A torque of the transmission apparatus, and thus of a connectable steering device, may be ascertained by the control unit using the at least one mechanical property, which has at least one changing state value during the movement of the transmission apparatus, in combination with the motion signal.

  • Patent number: 10098573
Abstract: A medical device and/or a method are used by a rescuer who is caring for a patient. The depth of CPR chest compressions is determined, by detecting magnetic fields. An interference is sensed, which is not associated with the CPR chest compressions, but which is superimposed on the detected magnetic fields. Appropriate countermeasures may be taken, if the sensed interference is larger than a threshold.

  • Patent number: 9334750
Abstract: A control system is provided for a power generating system having a gas turbine, a flue gas exhaust stage and a blow-off valve assembly. The gas turbine includes a compression stage, a combustion stage and a driveshaft. The blow-off valve assembly is configured to selectively provide fluid communication between the combustion stage and the flue gas exhaust stage. The control system includes a controller configured to output a signal causing the blow-off valve assembly to provide the fluid communication in response to a sudden de-loading of the gas turbine.

  • Publication number: 20150027129
Abstract: In order to improve the cooling of an air-cooled gas turbine in the partial load operating mode it is proposed to provide a connecting line between two cooling air lines with different pressure levels, which connecting line leads from the second cooling air line at a relative high pressure level to the first cooling air line at a relative low pressure level. In this context, a cooling device for cooling an auxiliary cooling air stream, flowing from the second cooling air line into the first cooling air line, and an adjustment element are arranged in the connecting line. In addition to a gas turbine, a method for operating such a gas turbine is the subject matter of the disclosure.

  • Patent number: 8291713
Abstract: In a method of operating a gas turbine during shut down, the gas turbine is decelerated and closure of compressor inlet guide vanes (1) is initiated at a shaft speed at least 5% above the shaft speed where a vibration peak occurs. The compressor inlet guide vanes (1) are closed by an angle in the range from 15°-35°, preferably at a rate between 5° and 10° per second. The method effects a reduction of the risk of rotational stall.
