  • Publication number: 20020012584
Abstract: In a feed pump designed as a side-channel pump, an impeller is held so as to be slightly pivotable with respect to a shaft about an axis running transversely to the shaft. The impeller is thereby adaptable to tolerances of a casing. Rubbing of the impeller on the casing is also prevented as a result. The feed pump consequently generates a particularly low level of noise.

  • Publication number: 20020004001
Abstract: A feed pump designed as side-channel pump has a shaft for a rotationally fixed connection to an impeller. Two flattenings are arranged on the shaft so that they are nonparallel to one another. The impeller is thereby mountable on the shaft only in an intended position so that the impeller is rotated in an intended direction of rotation in a casing. The feed pump may therefore be assembled in a particularly simple way.

  • Publication number: 20020004000
Abstract: A feed pump includes two feed chambers one surrounding the other and arranged at different axial levels from an electric motor driving the feed pump. A radially inner feed chamber of the two feed chambers is arranged for filling a baffle of a fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The radially outer feed chamber is arranged for suctioning in fuel from the baffle. The feed pump is of particularly compact design and the radially inner feed chamber is arranged at a low level in the baffle.

  • Publication number: 20010041132
Abstract: A feed pump includes an impeller with two rings of guide blades delimiting blade chambers. The rings of guide blades concentrically surrounding one another and have different angular intervals between guide blades. The angular intervals between the guide blades of each ring vary within a range of values and ranges of values of each ring of guide blades is different to avoid the additions of noise emissions the feed pump consequently has noises which cause particularly little disturbance.

  • Patent number: 6309173
Abstract: A feed pump (2) designed for feeding fuel in a motor vehicle, with an impeller (7) having vane chambers (10, 10a, 11, 11a) delimited by guide vanes (12, 13), and in casing parts (3, 4) adjacent to the impeller (7) and having part-annular channels (14, 15) arranged in the region of the vane chambers (10, 10a, 11, 11a), has a degassing duct (19), the start of which is arranged downstream of an inlet port (8). Some of the vane chambers (10) are connected to the degassing duct (19) via pockets (20) worked into the impeller (7). By means of this degassing duct (19), gas bubbles present in the fuel are discharged reliably from the feed pump (2).

  • Patent number: 6302639
Abstract: Feed pumps operating on the side channel or peripheral principle are known from use in fuel feed units of motor vehicles. These feed pumps often have rings of blade chambers, which are delimited by moving blades, said rings being located opposite one another in an impeller. Impellers, of which the moving blades of blade chambers located opposite one another are arranged in a V-shaped manner in relation to one another, already achieve high efficiencies. The new feed pump is to have improved efficiency, as compared with these. The moving blades of the feed pump are arranged at an angle to the axis of rotation of the impeller, this angle of the moving blades increasing from the radially inner to the radially outer region in proportion to the radial extent of the moving blade. The feed pump is suitable particularly for use in a fuel feed unit in a motor vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20010026757
Abstract: A feed pump designed as a side-channel or peripheral pump has two rings of guide vanes arranged in an impeller and concentrically enclosing one another. The sides of the guide vanes facing the intended direction of rotation of the impeller are inclined at an angle relative to the axis of rotation of the impeller. The angles of the guide vanes in a radially outer ring of guide vanes are larger than the angles of guide vanes in a radially inner ring of guide vanes. This arrangement allows the impeller to be produced in an injection mold in an especially cost-effective manner.

  • Patent number: 6284101
Abstract: An apparatus for press forming products having a desired shape from a web is provided. The apparatus includes a cyclically operating blanking section for cutting the web to produce a single blank for each blanking cycle and a cyclically operating forming section for receiving a plurality of single blanks from the blanking section during a first portion of each forming cycle and for press forming the plurality of single blanks into a plurality of three dimensional press formed paperboard products having the desired shape during a second portion of each forming cycle. The forming section includes a die set having a plurality of forming die cavities wherein each of the forming die cavities receives a single blank. The blanking section operates cyclically at a predetermined rate r and the die set of the forming section includes n forming die cavities, the blanking section operating at n cycles for each forming cycle and the forming section operating cyclically at a rate r/n.

  • Patent number: 6102653
Abstract: In a feed pump (2) designed as a side channel pump, with an impeller (5) rotating in a pump casing (3) and having blade chambers (12, 13), the blade chambers (12 13) have an inflow region (16, 17), the profile of which is designed asymmetrically to that of an outflow region (18, 19). The feed pump (2) can thereby be adapted to an intended characteristic simply by exchanging or reversing the rotation of the impeller (5).
