    Abstract: Device and method for controlling axial forces acting upon a moving web comprises first, second and third rotatable rollers. The third roller is between the first and second rollers and is movable in a circular path in the vertical plane between lower and upper positions in response to axial forces acting at any moment upon the web. To enable a simple manual installation of the web, the upper position of the third roller is at a sufficient vertical distance above the first and second rollers to form an open horizontal passage through which the web can pass freely between the first and second rollers and the above-situated third roller. Axial forces are controlled by biasing the third roller with a force which counters the motion of the third roller in the direction of the upper working position and which is less than the ultimate tensile strength of the web.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for protecting an electronic equipment from being stolen when using a protection unit adapted to communicate with a surveillance centre when it is detected that the electronic equipment has been stolen. A communication unit at the electronic equipment transmits control signals indicating whether the protection unit is working alright. A fault detector receives the control signals and indicates a fault when detecting that the protection unit is not working depending on the control signals. In that case, an operation control unit disables the electronic equipment in response to the indicated fault. Thereby, it is not attractive to steal the electronic equipment since it will be made more or less useless once it is detected that it has been stolen.

More specifically, the present invention provides a method for assigning a mobile station (MS) to an unlicensed mobile access (UMA) network controller (UNC) in an unlicensed mobile access network (UMAN). The MS is connected to a provisioning UNC and discovers a default UNC. A serving UNC is then determined to assign the MS to and the MS is assigned to the serving UNC. The serving UNC can be the default UNC, the provisioning UNC or another UNC.

    Abstract: An end node in a packet-switched network is proposed wherein the end node is arranged to exchange packets consisting of a packet header and payload data with a server node connected to the packet-switched network. The end node includes at least one module adapted to extract quality of service parameter values from the headers of packets received over the packet-switched network and to insert the extracted quality of service parameter value in the headers of packets destined for transmission to the server node over the packet-switched network. In this manner the end node automatically adapts the quality of service parameters received over the packet-switched network to correspond with the type of quality of service defined in received packets. Such a system means that only the server node need be configured with the quality of service parameters applicable on the particular packet switched network, so greatly reducing the installation and configuration overheads in a multi-user network.

The method includes the steps of: establishing communication with a support center via the mobile communications network core network portion; receiving a message containing configuration data for the device from the call center; establishing an unlicensed radio link with the device; and transmitting the configuration data to the device via said unlicensed wireless link. By using the mobile phone or other mobile communications device as an interface for configuration data, the end user is relieved of all further interactions and requires no specific knowledge or experience to achieve the configuration and installation of the device.
