  • Patent number: 7827604
Abstract: The present invention provides a solution in which a script containing general security parameters and access policies in a file is placed on an appropriate internal server. The location of the script may then be stored on an external server. When an end-user within the organization decides to purchase a wireless network device, he may attach it to his existing computer. The computer then may retrieve the security file location from the external server, retrieve the security file from the internal server using the security file location, and program the security file into the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 7819152
Abstract: This invention relates to a pneumatic rubber tire having a circumferential tread containing an outer tread rubber layer, wherein said outer tread rubber layer contains an outer tire running surface, comprised of an electrically insulating (poorly electrically conducting) rubber composition and wherein said tread additionally contains a circumferential tread component in a form of an inverted “T” configuration comprised of a relatively electrically conducting rubber composition (relative to said outer tread rubber strip) wherein the stem of said inverted “T” configured tread component extends through said outer tread rubber layer to its running surface to thereby provide a path of least electrical resistance through said outer tread strip to its running surface and wherein the base of said “T” configured tread component underlies a portion of said outer tread rubber layer and is less than, and therefore not entirely co-extensive with, the axial width of said outer tread rubber layer.

  • Publication number: 20100231360
Abstract: A wireless communication device coupled to a wave antenna that provides greater increased durability and impedance matching. The wave antenna is a conductor that is bent in alternating sections to form peaks and valleys. The wireless communication device is coupled to the wave antenna to provide wireless communication with other communication devices, such as an interrogation reader. The wireless communication device and wave antenna may be placed on objects, goods, or other articles of manufacture that are subject to forces such that the wave antenna may be stretched or compressed during the manufacture and/or use of such object, good or article of manufacture. The wave antenna, because of its bent structure, is capable of stretching and compressing more easily than other structures, reducing the wireless communication device's susceptibility to damage or breaks that might render the wireless communication device coupled to the wave antenna unable to properly communicate information wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20100207393
Abstract: Apparatus for generating electricity using tidal, wave or current flow in a body of water, comprising: an arrangement of first (10) and second (11) pipes, each first pipe (10) being provided with a series of holes (12a, 12b, 13a, 13b) spaced along its length, and the first pipes being arranged relative to the second pipes such that a venturi is defined between the walls of adjacent first and second pipes near the holes; a flow conduit having an inlet and an outlet; an impeller located in the flow conduit; and a generator connected to the impeller; wherein water from the body can enter the flow conduit via the inlet, and the first pipes are connected to the outlet of the flow conduit such that flow of water past the arrangement of first (10) and second (11) pipes causes the first pipes (10) to act as venturi pumps inducing flow from the inside of the first pipes through the holes (12, 13) so as to draw water through the flow conduit and drive the impeller.

  • Publication number: 20100172453
Abstract: Fully redundant clock systems are provided on network nodes coupled by redundant multisegment psuedowires (MSPWs) within an internet-protocol (IP)-based mobile backhaul network. The primary clock system includes a primary master clock on a first node and a primary slave clock on a second node coupled via a primary MSPW, while the secondary clock system includes a secondary master clock on the first node and a secondary slave clock on the second node coupled via a secondary MSPW. The primary and secondary slave clocks synchronize with their respective primary and secondary master clocks via their respective MSPWs. A clock controller maintains the secondary clock system in a hot-stand-by mode, and upon determining that a switch-over is needed, automatically switches from the primary clock system to the secondary clock system.
