  • Patent number: 9392494
Abstract: A method of operation of a mobile device to reduce link setup time includes initiating a link setup procedure with a first access point. The link setup procedure includes receiving dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) information via the first access point. The method further includes communicating with the first access point using the DHCP information and initiating communication with a second access point after communicating with the first access point. The method further includes receiving an indication from the second access point identifying whether the mobile device is able to communicate with the second access point using the DHCP information. A value of the indication identifies whether the mobile device is able to reduce link setup time with the second access point by avoiding DHCP reconfiguration with the second access point.

  • Patent number: 9388903
Abstract: The present application pertains to a compression packing seal including a braided dual-sided jacket, methods for producing and using such a seal, and apparatuses suitable for producing such a seal. The compression packing seal is made up of a core and a jacket braided round the core. The jacket may include two or more different materials that are braided together in such a way that, in cross-section, the jacket has an asymmetrical configuration relative to a first axis that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and is substantially perpendicular to a side of the jacket. Accordingly, when viewed in a cross-sectional plane, the jacket may expose substantially only a first material along a first side, and substantially only a second material along a second side.

  • Publication number: 20160151541
Abstract: Devices and methods for transplanting cells in a host body are described. The cell comprises a porous scaffold that allows ingrowth of vascular and connective tissues, a plug or plug system configured for placement within the porous scaffold, and a seal configured to enclose a proximal opening in the porous scaffold. The device may further comprise a cell delivery device for delivering cells into the porous scaffold. The method of cell transplantation comprises a two step process. The device is incubated in the host body to form a vascularized collagen matrix around a plug positioned within the porous scaffold. The plug is then retracted from the porous scaffold, and cells are delivered into the vascularized space created within the porous scaffold.

  • Patent number: 9336160
Abstract: A block cipher is provided that secures data by encrypting it based on the memory address where it is to be stored. When encrypting data for storage in the memory address, the memory address is encrypted in a first plurality of block cipher rounds. Data round keys are generated using information from the first plurality of block cipher rounds. Data to be stored is combined with the encrypted memory address and encrypted in a second plurality of block cipher rounds using the data round keys. The encrypted data is then stored in the memory location. When decrypting data, the memory address is again encrypted as before while the encrypted stored data is decrypted in a second plurality of the block cipher rounds using the data round keys to obtain a partially decrypted data. The partially decrypted data is combined with the encrypted memory address to obtain fully decrypted data.

  • Publication number: 20160127901
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a wireless station. Specifically, the present disclosure prevents a station from decrypting unauthorized messages transmitted by wireless device(s) impersonating an AP. In some examples, the AP may continuously and periodically alter the keys for each transmitted message transmitted to prevent malicious interference by unauthorized devices. In some examples, the method may use a symmetric cipher (e.g., Message Integrity Code) for a message using an undisclosed MIC key.

The system includes first and second crowned cams having first and second lift profiles and a rocker arm assembly. The rocker assembly includes a first arm having an end connected to said engine valve, having a high impact roller following the first crowned cam operating the engine valves according to a first lift profile. The rocker arm assembly also includes a second arm having durable slider pads riding on the second crowned cam to operate said engine valve according to a second lift profile. A latch secures the second arm relative to the first arm when in a latched position causing the valve to operate according to a second lift profile. The valve operates according to a first lift profile when the latch is not in the latched position.

  • Patent number: 9266029
Abstract: A structure comprises an elongate, resiliently deformable cable, a body section comprising a cable-receiving aperture, said aperture being dimensioned so as to retain a length of said cable within it in use while permitting relative movement of said cable relative to the aperture in a direction along the length of the cable upon application of a set manipulating force, and retaining means for retaining the cable at a set position relative to the body section absent application of said force, wherein the cable at least partially defines the shape of the structure, and said shape may be changed by application of said manipulating force thus causing relative movement between the cable and the body section in a direction along the length of the cable.

  • Publication number: 20160041919
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems for Selective Sub-Page Decompression (“SSPD”) seek to reduce unwanted latency in making requested data available to a processing component. To do so, SSPD embodiments may decompress a memory page in sub-page segments. Certain SSPD embodiments may decompress the sub-pages in parallel, using a plurality of available decompression engines. Certain other SSPD embodiments may decompress the sub-pages in a serial manner, using one or more available decompression engines and starting with a target sub-page that contains a requested chunk of data. In these ways, SSPD embodiments may make a requested chunk of data available to a processing component more quickly than other systems and methods known in the art.
