  • Patent number: 7854874
Abstract: An apparatus and methods for forming a composite part are provided. A method for forming a composite part may include placing initial composite material on a base tool, placing a tooling mandrel on the composite material, placing additional composite material over the tooling mandrel, covering at least a portion of the composite material that overlays the tooling mandrel with a composite forming tool, heating the composite material to at least partially cure the composite material, and permitting a first portion of the composite forming tool to change size during the heating of the composite material to a greater degree than a second portion of the composite forming tool. In this regard, the second portion of the composite forming tool is closer to the base tool than the first portion of the composite forming tool. A composite forming tool is also provided that permits differential expansion of different portions of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20100019306
Abstract: This document discloses devices fabricated on a semiconductor substrate and methods of fabricating the same. The devices can be memory cells having a tunnel window that is defined by dry-etching oxide to expose the semiconductor substrate and growing a tunnel oxide layer on the exposed semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor substrate can be decontaminated and/or repaired by exposing the semiconductor substrate to an optical irradiated energy source having a predefined energy that is sufficient to break molecular bonds of the contaminants and exposing the semiconductor substrate to a temperature that is sufficient to recrystallize the crystal lattice of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7636604
Abstract: A touch region for a controller having a touch screen that, when touched, makes a setting change to the controller. In one illustrative embodiment, the controller displays a display image on the touch screen, wherein the touch screen has a defined touch region that when touched makes a setting change to the controller. The display image has a portion that coincides with the touch region, wherein when the touch region is touched, at least part of the portion of the display image that coincides with the touch region changes from a first display image to a second display image to indicate a setting change of the controller. A subsequent touch to the touch region may cause at least part of the portion of the display image that coincides with the touch region to change from the second display image to a third display image to indicate a subsequent setting change of the controller.

  • Publication number: 20090299675
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a light emitting device for an optical sensor based on signal quality and/or power consumption requirements. Drive current and/or integration time is controlled as a function of detected ambient light or signal quality. As the signal quality decreases the drive current or integration time can be adjusted to provide a more usable signal. If after some criteria for reduction, such as “time on” or high signal quality, then the drive current can be decreased.
