  • Patent number: 9276973
Abstract: A determination is made of users that form a group within a social network in which the users communicate with each other over a network with electronic devices in a client-server architecture. The users in the group within the social network form a peer-to-peer (P2P) storage group within a P2P storage network. In the P2P storage network, users are peers that act as a client and a server for each other.

  • Patent number: 9256072
Abstract: A method detects a real object with a wearable electronic device and displays a virtual image of the real object with the real object on a display of the wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device displays movement of the virtual image of the real object to show a task to be completed and detects a completion of the task.

  • Patent number: 9230296
Abstract: A method of controlling micromirrors of reset groups of a spatial light modulator (SLM) digital micromirror array is disclosed. In a first reset operation, the positions of a first subgroup of micromirrors of a reset group are set based on a first portion of a first bitplane and the positions of a second subgroup of micromirrors of the same reset group are set based on a first portion of a second bitplane. Then, in a second reset operation, the positions of the first subgroup are set based on a second portion of the second bitplane and the positions of the second subgroup are set based on a second portion of a first bitplane. In one example, subsets of alternating rows of micromirrors of the same reset group are successively set according to alternating data corresponding to different ones of first and second bitplanes.

  • Patent number: 9147403
Abstract: An audio signal is monitored to detect the presence of a call to action contained therein. Addressing information is automatically extracted from the call to action and stored on a storage medium. An electronic message responding to the call to action may be automatically prepared, or a contact field may be automatically populated for inclusion in a contact list. The audio signal may be digitized or obtained from a broadcast transmission, and the process may be performed by a mobile communication device, a central system, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9106821
Abstract: Approaches are described which enable a user of a computing device (e.g., mobile phone, tablet computer) to capture a first image using the front-facing camera and then use that first image to guide the capturing of a second image (e.g., a higher quality image) using the rear-facing camera of the device. When the user turns the device around, the first image is used as a model template to guide the user in moving and/or rotating the device to align the rear-facing camera for capturing the second image.

  • Patent number: 9044586
Abstract: A valve system is provided that includes an electromechanical solenoid, a gas valve including a magnetic flapper, a power source in electrical communication with the electromechanical solenoid, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the power source to supply an intermediate voltage that causes the electromechanical solenoid to move to a neutral position between a default position and a fully-actuated position. In so doing, the magnetic flapper is maintained in a neutral position between two gas ports and a flow of gas between the ports can be used to clean foreign particles from the magnetic flapper. The controller can also provide a varying voltage to the electromechanical solenoid while in the neutral position to cause vibration of the magnetic flapper and further assist in removing foreign particles. A closed loop system including a feedback circuit can be used for adjusting the voltage applied to the solenoid based on pressure sensed.
