  • Publication number: 20160113700
Abstract: An electrosurgical device that is capable of both generating a plasma to perform surface coagulation and emitting a non-ionising microwave field (in the absence of plasma) to perform coagulation at a deeper level. The device comprises a probe tip that is connected to receive radiofrequency (RF) and/or microwave frequency energy from a generator, and also defines a flow path for a gas. The probe tip is adjustable between a first configuration, in which it defines a bipolar (e.g. coaxial) structure to produce a high electric field from the received RF and/or microwave frequency energy across the flow path for the gas to strike and sustain plasma and a second configuration, in which it defines an antenna structure to emit non-ionising microwave energy into tissue.

  • Publication number: 20160110300
Abstract: Input signals, received by a primary computer, are emulated to a guest computer. For example, an input redirection component is connected between the primary computer and the guest computer. The primary computer may be communicatively connected to an input device (e.g., a touch display, a keyboard, etc.). The guest computer may not, however, be communicatively connected to the input device, and thus may be unaware of input signals from the input device. Accordingly, the input redirection component may receive, from the primary computer, a message regarding an input signal from the input device. The input redirection component may emulate the input device (e.g., connect to the guest computer as though the input redirection component is the input device), and may provide an emulated input signal, emulating the input signal, to the guest computer (e.g., the input signal, received by the primary computer, may be used to control the guest computer).

  • Publication number: 20150343159
Abstract: There is provided an inhaler device comprising a housing, a mouthpiece, a seat for receiving a unit dose blister and a punch for piercing a lid of the unit dose blister. The housing comprises a base and a lid pivotally joined by a hinge, such that the lid is pivotable from a first ‘closed’ position in which it abuts the base to define a cavity, to a second ‘open’ position in which the cavity can be accessed. The seat and the punch are adapted to lie within the cavity when the lid is in the first ‘closed’ position and moving the lid from the ‘open’ position to the ‘closed’ position causes the punch to pierce a lid of a unit dose blister received in the seat. Only the lid of the unit dose blister is pierced.

  • Patent number: 9158014
Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus and a system, as well as a method and an article, may operate to rotate a rotatable driving member having at least one driving lobe, and to periodically contact at least one cam on a unitary driven member with the at least one driving lobe during rotation of the rotatable driving member, to set the driven member in motion. This motion can be used to launch an acoustic wave along an axis substantially orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the driving member, where the driving member disposed completely within the driven member. The signature of the acoustic wave can be at least partially determined by the profile of the cam and the rotation rate of the driving member. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140324358
Abstract: Methods and computing systems for processing collected data are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is provided for predicting a plurality of surface multiples for a plurality of target traces in a record of multi-component seismic data acquired in a survey area. The method may select a target trace. The method may select an aperture of potential downward reflection points for the target trace. The method may calculate dip propagation attributes from the multi-component seismic data. The method may map the dip propagation attributes into a multiple contribution attribute gather based on the aperture. The method may modify the aperture based on the multiple contribution attribute gather. The method may then predict multiples for the selected target trace using the modified aperture.

  • Publication number: 20140200812
Abstract: Survey data corresponding to a subsurface region of interest is received. A wavefield is determined by iteratively performing the following until a specified condition is satisfied. For a current iteration, an element that includes a representation of at least one portion of the wavefield is selected based at least in part on a current residual representing an approximation error. For the current iteration, a respective data structure is computed from the selected element. The data structure is orthogonally projected onto a space spanned by a plurality of data structures including the computed data structure. The current residual is based at least in part on the orthogonal projection.
