  • Publication number: 20180118052
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to vehicles capable of autonomous driving. These vehicles may include seats for accommodating different numbers of passengers. In some cases, the seats may be reconfigurable. For instance, a vehicle may include a first row of seating having a first, passenger use configuration. The first row may allow a passenger to sit in a seat of the first row of seating and access user input controls for the vehicle. The first row of seating may also have a second, folded configuration where the first row is in a folded configuration and no longer usable for passenger seating. The vehicle may also have a second row of seating. When the first row of seating is in the second, folded configuration, the second row of seating may still be usable for seating and may include additional legroom for the passenger as compared to when the first row of seating is in the first passenger use configuration.

  • Patent number: 9947106
Abstract: A method and an electronic device for object tracking in a sequence of light-field captures. A data acquisition unit acquires a sequence of light-field captures, wherein each light-field capture comprises a plurality of views. A feature determining unit determines features of an initial visual appearance model for an object of interest in a reference view of a first light-field capture. A feature matching unit matches the features in the reference view and in the further views of the first light-field capture. A feature discarding unit discards features that cannot be well matched in all views of the first light-field capture. An appearance model building unit builds an updated visual appearance model for the object of interest based on the remaining features. Finally, a movement tracking unit tracks the movement of the object of interest in the sequence of light-field captures using the visual appearance model.

  • Publication number: 20180096514
Abstract: The invention notably relates to a computer-implemented method for simulating a 3D scene. The simulation is carried out with a set of computing resources running in parallel. The method comprises partitioning a 3D scene into a plurality of zones. Each zone is sized to satisfy real-time computing constraint by one computing resource of the set. The method comprises assigning each zone of the plurality to a computing resource, computing an estimation of a load of each computing resource and determining whether one or more computing resources are over-loaded or under-loaded, computing, for each zone, a contribution of the zone to the load of the computing resource to which the zone is assigned, reassigning one or more zones of a computing resource that is over-loaded or under-loaded to another computing resource, the reassignment resulting from the computed contributions of the zones with a combinatorial optimization algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20180075660
Abstract: In order to blur a virtual object in a video in real time as the video is acquired by a device capturing a real scene, a salient idea is used which estimates an apparent motion vector between two successive images, being captured at two successive device poses, in which the apparent motion vector estimation is based on a motion of the device. The successive images are then filtered based on the estimated apparent motion vector.

  • Publication number: 20170337741
Abstract: A method and device for rendering a scene including one or more real objects is described. A virtual object is associated with each real object, a virtual object associated with a real object corresponding to a virtual replica of this real object. The virtual replica is used to render a transformation that may be applied to the real object when for example hit by a virtual object, the virtual object then replacing the corresponding real object within the scene. To bring realism to the scene, texture information obtained from image(s) of the real object(s) is used to texture the visible part(s) of the transformed virtual object(s). The texture information is selected in the images by using information on the visibility of the parts of the real object(s) that correspond to the visible parts of the transformed virtual object(s).

  • Patent number: 9538179
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing occlusions in motion estimation are described. For processing an occlusion in a forward motion field of a second frame relative to a first frame the forward motion field of the second frame relative to the first frame is determined with a motion estimator. Then an area in the second frame that is occluded in the first frame is identified with an occlusion identifier. Finally, a motion corrector determines a corrected forward motion field by filling the forward motion field in the identified area in the second frame using motion vectors of a previous backward motion field of the second frame relative to a previous third frame.
