  • Publication number: 20140117521
Abstract: A lead frame for assembling a semiconductor device has a die pad surrounded by lead fingers. Each of the lead fingers has a proximal end close to but spaced from an edge of the die pad and a distal end farther from the die pad. A semiconductor die is attached to a surface of the die pad. The die has die bonding pads on its upper surface that are electrically connected to the proximal ends of the lead fingers with bond wires. An encapsulation material covers the bond wires, semiconductor die and the proximal ends of the lead fingers. Prior to assembly, hot spots of the die are determined and the lead fingers closest to the hot spots are selected to project closer to the die than the other lead fingers. These longer lead fingers assist in dissipating the heat at the die hot spot.

  • Publication number: 20140119131
Abstract: A system for managing redundancy in a memory device includes memory arrays and associated periphery logic circuits, and redundant memory arrays and associated redundant periphery logic circuits. The memory arrays and a first set of logic circuits associated with the periphery logic circuits corresponding to the memory arrays are connected to the power supply by way of memory I/O switches. The redundant memory arrays and associated redundant periphery logic circuits are connected to the power supply by way of redundant I/O switches. The memory and redundant I/O switches are switched on/off based on an acknowledgement signal generated during a built-in-self-test (BIST) operation of the memory device.

  • Patent number: 8666877
Abstract: A system and method of aggregating and predicting stock ranking stocks. The novel system and method uses a neighborhood model to aggregate a plurality of “neighboring” or related stocks having similar pricing trends. The system and method then uses a ranking optimization method to predict the ranking of each stock based on percentage change in price. The current invention facilitates investors trading by using a novel methodology to predict stock rankings and providing a neighborhood of related stocks, while having an easy-to-use interface.

  • Publication number: 20130311258
Abstract: Techniques are provided for offering a deal to a group of users, and for determining differential discounts for the users of the group that participate in the deal. A deal is offered to users of a group of users formed in association with a corresponding topic. Each user of the group is enabled to selectively accept the deal. The deal is confirmed with a plurality of users of the group that accepted the deal. Discounts for the deal are differentially assigned to the plurality of users based on at least one parameter such that at least two users that accepted the deal have discounts that are different from each other.

  • Publication number: 20130311556
Abstract: Methods, system and computer readable medium for generating a dynamic group includes defining a theme for the group. A group is initiated for the defined theme and plurality of users are invited to join the group. The activities of the plurality of users that have joined the group are monitored over time, wherein the activities are directed toward enriching information associated with the defined theme or one or more sub-themes of the defined theme. User dynamics of the group are adjusted dynamically based on the monitored activities of the users. The adjusted user dynamics define a strength value of the theme for the group of users.

  • Patent number: 8306954
Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient file replication are provided. In some embodiments, one or more coarse signatures for blocks in a base file are compared with those coarse signatures for blocks of a revised file, until a match is found. A fine signature is then generated for the matching block of the revised file and compared to a fine signature of the base file. Thus, fine signatures are not computed unless a coarse signature match has been found, thereby minimizing unneeded time-consuming fine signature calculations. Methods are also provided for determining whether to initiate a delta file generation algorithm, or whether to utilize a more efficient replication method, based upon system and/or file parameters. In accordance with additional embodiments, the lengths of valid data on physical blocks are obtained from physical block mappings for the files, and these lengths and mappings are utilized for delta file generation, to minimize unnecessary signature computations.

  • Publication number: 20090325533
Abstract: Portable battery operated electronic devices often use a “sleep mode” for energy conservation. A key feature introduced in the IEEE 802 standard ensures power-efficient operation of these battery operated mobile devices. However, the standard fails to define what will trigger a device into the sleep mode while other systems define “waiting time threshold” as a time for which a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) waits before entering into sleep mode which has a constant duration. An embodiment of the present invention uses a unique method (1500) and algorithm for optimizing waiting time threshold (1509) according to traffic arrival pattern for uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) data packets. This leads to significant reduction in energy consumption with little increase in average waiting delay and acceptable end-to-end delay for non real time traffic.
