Abstract: A versatile flying lead (VHL) termination head system comprises an underwater vehicle interface, an interface plate, a termination frame, and an adjuster, disposed proximate the termination frame's connection end, which is configured to provide a configurable declination angle which sets a hang-off angle of a device connected to the interface plate with respect to the underwater vehicle interface. A subsea termination head may be manufactured and assembled by obtaining a predetermined set of standardized structural building blocks that fit together to form a complete termination frame which is as described herein, using the predetermined set of standardized structural building blocks to construct a subsea termination head from the predetermined set of standardized structural building blocks substantially in parallel and connecting the underwater vehicle interface to the frame at a predetermined angle using the adjuster.

Abstract: Enhanced mesh network performance is provided by computation of a path metric with respect to multi-hop paths between nodes in a mesh network and determination of a path through the mesh network that is optimal according to the path metric. Information is communicated in the mesh network according to the determined path. Nodes in the mesh network are enabled to communicate via one or more wireless links and/or one or more wired links. The path metric optionally includes an effective bandwidth path metric having elements (listed from highest to lowest conceptual priority) including an inverse of a sustainable data rate, a number of wireless links, and a number of wireless and wired links. The sustainable data rate is a measure of communication bandwidth that is deliverable by a path for a period of time. Accounting is made for interference between contiguous wireless links operating on the same channel.

Abstract: A data narration generating system generates snippets that include representations of data in one of a plurality of formats for inclusion into a data narration. The narration generating system receives selected data to be included into the data narration and provides the selected data to a plurality of ML models. The plurality of ML models are trained in generating snippets in one of the plurality of formats which can include textual format and a tabular format. Snippets in graphical formats can also be generated by rule-based processes. A plurality of snippets are thus generated in one or more of the plurality of formats which can then be presented to a user for selection and inclusion into the data narration. Alternately, a subset of the plurality of snippets can also be selected automatically based on a quality and quantity of data and a voting mechanism. The data narration thus generated is further configured to present different views based on privileges associated with user profiles.

Abstract: A production host includes a persistent storage and a backup manager. The persistent storage stores virtual machine data and a service group list associated with an application service group. The backup manager obtains a backup generation request for the application service group that includes virtual machines, and each of the virtual machines uses a copy of the virtual machine data; in response to obtaining the backup generation request: identifies a first virtual machine the virtual machines that is prioritized for generating a backup for the application service group based on the service group list; attempts to generate the backup using the first virtual machine and the copy of the virtual machine data; and stores the backup in backup storage.

Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for secure functions and manipulating cache line data. The method includes generating cache block addresses from a subset of bits, i.e. tag bits, of a cache address and hashing the cache block addresses with one or more secure functions that use keys to generate secure indexes.

The backup manager obtains a restoration request for restoration of an application hosted by an entity of the entities; makes a determination to accelerate the restoration based, at least in part, on the application; in response to the determination: identifies a virtual disk level backup of the entity that is associated with the application using the global application data map; obtains the virtual disk level backup from the backups of the entities; and restores the application using the virtual disk level backup.

Abstract: In implementations of a recommendation system based on individualized privacy settings, a computing device maintains user profiles of information and recommendations associated with users of the recommendation system. The computing device includes a recommendation module that is implemented to receive a privacy level selection for a type of items corresponding to a user profile in the system. The recommendation module can determine a privacy setting for a user associated with the user profile, where the privacy setting is individualized for the user in context of the type of items with an algorithmic noise function utilized to obfuscate a proportional level of the information associated with the user and the type of items based on the received privacy level selection. The recommendation module can also generate recommendations of relevant items for the user based on the determined privacy setting as individualized for the user in context of the type of items.

Abstract: A system includes a volatile storage device, a read-only memory (ROM), a memory built-in self-test (BIST) controller and a central processing unit (CPU). The CPU, upon occurrence of a reset event, executes a first instruction from the ROM to cause the CPU to copy a plurality of instructions from a range of addresses in the ROM to the volatile storage device. The CPU also executes a second instruction from the ROM to change a program counter. The CPU further executes the plurality of instructions from the volatile storage device using the program counter. The CPU, when executing the plurality of instructions from the volatile storage device, causes the ROM to enter a test mode and the memory BIST controller to be configured to test the ROM.

Abstract: A device receives policy information indicating a policy to be implemented for an application hosted by multiple cloud domains, and receives, from the multiple cloud domains, different application resource tags and addresses associated with the application. The device maps the different application resource tags to a generic identifier, and associates the policy with the generic identifier and with the addresses associated with the application. The device provides, based on associating the policy with the generic identifier and with the addresses associated with the application, the policy to the multiple cloud domains to permit the multiple cloud domains to implement the policy.

Abstract: An invert emulsion composition which includes a base fluid having an oleaginous phase and a non-oleaginous phase, an emulsifier, and wherein the oleaginous phase includes a mixture of vegetable oil and an oil other than vegetable oil. The composition may also include particles such as proppants or gravel, which may be coated prior to introduction to the composition to assist in stabilization the emulsion. The invert emulsion composition can be employed in fracturing, gravel packing, and diversion operations, and the like.

Abstract: Data volumes hosted for customers in a multi-tenant environment can be moved advantageously throughout the environment to improve performance and reduce cost. A data volume can serve I/O for a virtual machine instance, and it can be advantageous for the virtual machine and the data volume to be in the same network locality, or share at least some of the same network state and interconnection. Since there is limited capacity in a network locality, data volumes not attached to virtual machines can be moved to other locations in the environment. This can include moving data volumes to other local network topologies or snapshotting data volumes and writing the snapshots to another storage service. If the data volume is again needed for I/O, the data volume can moved, allocated, or reattached as necessary.

Abstract: A dual authentication access control system for controlling access to a secured area is disclosed, wherein a supervisor is allowed to approve access requests by a person wanting to gain access to the secured area from a remote location. In some cases, the person requesting access to the secured area enters his credentials and submits an access request. If the person's credentials are verified, an access approval request is forwarded to a mobile device of a supervisor. If the supervisor elects to approve access, the supervisor enters his credentials via the supervisor's mobile device. If the supervisor's credentials are verified, the person is granted access to the secured area.

The program further instructs the processor to, for each build tray, sort the fabricated parts into the plural orders by matching a measured characteristic of a part to a predicted characteristic of unsorted parts from the build tray.
