Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for flow stitching network traffic flow segments across middleboxes. A method can include collecting flow records of traffic flow segments at a first middlebox and a second middlebox in a network environment including one or more transaction identifiers assigned to the traffic flow segments. Sources and destinations of the traffic flow segments can be identified with respect to the first middlebox and the second middlebox. Corresponding subsets of the traffic flow segments can be stitched together to from a first stitched traffic flow at the first middlebox and a second stitched traffic flow at the second middlebox. The first and second stitched traffic flows can be stitched together to form a cross-middlebox stitched traffic flow across the first middlebox and the second middlebox. • Patent number: 10797968
Abstract: In one example, a Network Functions Virtualization Orchestrator (NFVO) obtains a radio service descriptor defining communication parameters for a radio in a virtual Radio Access Network (vRAN). Based on the radio service descriptor, the NFVO determines whether a virtual Distributed Unit (vDU) that is configured in accordance with the communication parameters and a virtual Centralized Unit (vCU) that is configured in accordance with the communication parameters are already instantiated in the vRAN. If it is determined that the vDU or the vCU is not already instantiated, the NFVO automatically instantiates the vDU or the vCU in the vRAN.

  • Patent number: 10798195
Abstract: The embodiments herein push notifications to network devices used by a shared service to which a roaming host in a network fabric is subscribed. For example, a network fabric controller can access a VN policy table which stores the relationships between the virtual networks in the network fabric. Using this table, the controller can identify what shared service VNs (i.e., extranets) can communicate with the host's VN. The controller can push out notifications to the network devices used by the shared service VNs to store the new location of the host. That is, the network devices that locally store a location of the host can update their routing caches to point to the new location of the host. In this manner, the network fabric can reduce the time needed to reconverge on the new location of the host by updating the network devices used by the shared service VNs.

  • Patent number: 10795769
Abstract: The identification and loading of an appropriate service operating system can be facilitated when a main operating system fails. To facilitate the identification of which main operating system failed, an agent can create a UEFI variable that is specific to each main operating system on a client. These OS-specific UEFI variables can be employed to identify which main operating system has failed to boot. When a main operating system fails to boot, a UEFI preboot application can be configured to access the UEFI variables to identify which main operating system has failed. The UEFI preboot application can also obtain characteristics of the failed operating system from the UEFI variable and include such characteristics in a vendor extension of an SLP request. A server can employ the characteristics defined in the vendor extension to identify and send an appropriate service operating system to the client.
