  • Publication number: 20180188052
Abstract: An authoritative candidate is selected for determining a location of a point of interest (POI). Source data including name and location for POIs is received from multiple data sources. The received data is normalized for ease of comparison, and coordinates for each candidate are compared to coordinates of other candidates to determine which candidates lie outside of a consensus set of candidates. A consensus set of candidates are those that are each located on a same side of a road segment. Candidates that are not part of the consensus set are eliminated from consideration. Further criteria are then applied to the consensus set of candidates. The authoritative candidate can be used to render digital maps that include the POI. In addition, the authoritative candidate's location can be used to provide vehicle route guidance to the POI.

  • Patent number: 10007432
Abstract: A method for copying data from a storage device that has been identified for replacement or has failed to a spare storage device. The method includes a storage controller tracking input/output statistics for several storage devices. The storage controller determines if a first storage device storing first data has been identified for replacement within the storage devices. In response to the first storage device having been identified for replacement, a first least written to data address space within the first storage device is determined based on the input/output statistics. First data contained in the first least written to data address space is copied from the first storage device to the spare storage device.

  • Patent number: 10003075
Abstract: The present invention relates to carbon nanotubes-metal nano composite by chemical route and the corresponding development of strong and flexible, light weight, self-supporting anode through simple vacuum filtration technique, which is favored by the high aspect ratio of the Multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The self-supported anode has an added advantage that it can be used as electrodes without binder and electrical conductor (unlike other carbonaceous powder materials) that helps us to elucidate the precise electrochemical properties. The metals used can be Sn, Si, Al, etc. The developed high capacity, free-standing anode can be used in rechargeable Li-ion batteries and is demonstrated successfully in powering solar lantern.

  • Publication number: 20180165742
Abstract: A self-learning system, a method, and a non-transitory computer readable medium having computer executable instructions stored thereon, where each assist in decision-making involving any one of a plurality of entities. A user record having items the user previously designated at entities is generated using an online structure. The user is authenticated upon his interaction with the entity, and the user record is evaluated. A distinct result is generated based on the evaluation, and the result is communicated by the online structure to an entity computer. The online structure receives activity data from the entity computer and updates the user record.

  • Patent number: 9990262
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for dynamic mirroring. A first storage node and the second storage node within a first storage cluster may locally mirror data between one another based upon a local failover partnership. The first storage node and a third storage node within a second storage cluster may remotely mirror data between one another based upon a primary disaster recovery partnership. If the third storage node fails, then the first storage node may remotely mirror data to a fourth storage node within the second storage cluster based upon an auxiliary disaster recovery partnership. In this way, data loss protection for the first storage node may be improved, such that the fourth storage node provide clients with access to mirrored data from the first storage node in the event the second storage node and/or the third storage node are unavailable when the first storage node fails.

  • Publication number: 20180122166
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for access control are provided. The present disclosure provides a communication device of a user communicating access details associated with the facility, to a client system within the vicinity of which the communication device is located, and the client system verifying the access details and transmitting an electronic request to a host server. Further, the host server transmits a request notification to the communication device requesting authentication of an identity of the user using an input of a biometric sample of the user on the communication device. The host server then obtains an outcome of the authentication, and causes the user to be authorized in response to a positive outcome of the authentication as well as the verification.

  • Publication number: 20180121454
Abstract: With a forever incremental snapshot configuration and a typical caching policy (e.g., least recently used), a storage appliance may evict stable data blocks of an older snapshot, perhaps unchanged data blocks of the snapshot baseline. If stable data blocks have been evicted, restore of a recent snapshot will suffer the time penalty of downloading the stable blocks for restoring the recent snapshot. Creating synthetic baseline snapshots and refreshing eviction data of stable data blocks can avoid eviction of stable data blocks and reduce the risk of violating a recovery time objective.

  • Publication number: 20180112046
Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of carbon fiber carbon nanotubes reinforced polymer composites for high strength structural applications. It is very difficult to incorporate higher amount of carbon fiber >60 vol % in any of the polymer matrix. Beyond this loading the mechanical properties of these composite starts deteriorate. Therefore, further improvement in the mechanical properties is not possible. Herein, a novel method is developed to fabricate the hybrid carbon fiber epoxy composites reinforced with multiwalled carbon nanotubes. The flexural strength of the hybrid composites (˜45 vol % CF+CNT) was achieved more than 600 MPa which is more than 35% over pure carbon fiber/epoxy composites (˜50 vol % CF). These high strength hybrid composites can be used in wind mill blades, turbine blades, sport industries, automobile and airframe.

  • Patent number: 9886248
Abstract: Methods for creating a factory, such as a software factory, a user experience factory, and a persistence factory, for developing one or more Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications. One or more artifacts related to the J2EE applications, such as code components, workflow scripts, and build scripts, are identified. Further, one or more templates are created for generating the one or more artifacts. The templates may be created based on a predefined architecture and coding conventions. These templates are stored in a repository to enable their subsequent reuse. Thereafter, one or more relationships between the artifacts are defined in a factory schema. Subsequently, the factory is created using the factory schema and the templates. The factory thus created may be used to develop the J2EE applications.
