  • Patent number: 10375155
Abstract: Performance of connection flow management between a hardware-based network interface and a software module of a network traffic management device is disclosed. A flow connection setup for a flow connection is established between a client device and a server at the network traffic management device. It is then determined if the flow connection is symmetrical or asymmetrical in nature. A flow signature entry and a transformation data entry for the flow connection is generated, by software executed by the network traffic management device, in opposing first and second symmetric or asymmetric flow directions. The flow signature entry and the transformation data entry for the first and second flow directions is sent from the software module to the network interface. The network interface stores and utilizes the flow signature entry and the transformation data entry to perform acceleration on data packets in the first and second flow directions.

  • Patent number: 10260121
Abstract: In a method for increasing steel impact toughness, the steel composition contains from about 5 wt % to about 10 wt % manganese and has a martensite finish temperature (Mf) below room temperature. The steel composition is exposed to hot forming to form a steel part. During hot forming, the steel composition is subjected to a heat treatment temperature above its fully austenite formed temperature, is transferred to a die, and while in the die, is simultaneously formed and quenched. In one example, quenching cools the steel composition to room temperature, and the steel part is removed from the die and reheated to a baking temperature ranging from about 120° C. to about 400° C. In another example, quenching is interrupted at an interruption temperature ranging from about 120° C. to about 400° C., and the steel composition is maintained at the interruption temperature for a predetermined time and then is cooled to room temperature.

  • Publication number: 20190071747
Abstract: A method of heat treating a steel workpiece may include two heat treatment stages. In the first stage, the steel workpiece may be heated to a first temperature greater than or equal to its A1 temperature, but less than its A3 temperature to transform the microstructure of the steel workpiece into a multiphase microstructure including grains of ferrite and grains of austenite having an average grain diameter. In the second stage, the steel workpiece may be heated to a second temperature greater than the first temperature to increase the average grain diameter of the grains of austenite. Thereafter, the steel workpiece may be cooled to ambient temperature at a rate sufficient to retain a major portion of the grains of austenite obtained during the first and second heat treatment stages. The as-heat treated steel workpiece may comprise a retained austenite phase dispersed within a ferrite matrix phase at ambient temperature.

  • Publication number: 20180333855
Abstract: Teams of robots can be organized to collectively complete complex real-world tasks, for example collective foraging in which robots search for, pick up, and drop off targets in a collection zone. A dynamic multiple-place foraging algorithm (MPFAdynamic) is a scalable, flexible, and efficient algorithm for robot swarms to collect objects in unmapped environments. It achieves scalability through a decentralized architecture in which robots search without central control, and then return to mobile depots which provide collection and communication points. Mobile depots move closer to clusters of targets as robots discover them, which reduces robot transport time as well as collisions among robots. Flexibility is achieved by incorporating individual robot behaviors in which robots move and communicate in ways that mimic the foraging behaviors of ants.
